NYC New York Color Makeup 101 Event

NYC New York Color Makeup recently held a master class with Mathew Nigara, their global make-up artist, to demonstrate makeup tips and tricks. As someone who’s always on the go and who barely gets a chance to slap on some lipgloss and mascara, I immediately jumped at the chance to try their wonderfully affordable Spring color Collection. I arrived to find a sort of roundtable class set up where we all had personalized individual stations with products for us to play with.

Mathew Nigara and the NYC New York Color team went through each product as we got acquainted with colors, textures, etc. I will be featuring just a few of the many new Spring launches from NYC New York Color, which by the way has gone global. In addition to playing with the new products, we also got some great tips from Mathew as well including “never use a concealer that is too light”, “don’t be afraid of red”, etc.

Let’s begin with the introduction of two new foundations for Spring – Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup.

a liquid makeup that comes in six shades that leaves you with a smooth finish that lasts all day long. Its lightweight coverage also reduces the appearance of dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles – with the color staying true up to 12 hours, it retails for a mere $2.99.

Skin Matching Foundation

This moisturizing foundation has a breakthrough tone-to-tone shade adjusting technology that adapts shades to skin’s color and texture, blending seamlessly for a natural, flawless and radiant looking complexion. Essential minerals and vitamins A, C and E, nourishes and hydrates skin all day long. Retails for $3.99

Their $4.99 Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain is amazing; its my favorite NYC New York Color product and the reason I’m sporting red lips again

this lightweight formula allows you to build color from sheer to an intense flush of color that sticks around. Color stays faithful for up to 16 hours; it will not transfer, rub off or smear, even when eating or drinking. It comes in 10 shades (Rock on Ruby – the red, is my favorite) and retails for $4.99.

The IndividualEyes Custom Compact comes in 3 shades for smokey eyes

the all-in-one compact with everything you need for a complete eye look: primer, illuminator, applicator and four complementing shadows specially coordinated to intensify and enhance your eye color.

NYC New York Color also introduces 6 new mascaras for spring – Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara, City Curls Curling Mascara, Show Time Volumizing Mascara (not pictured), Show Time Volumizing Waterproof Mascara, High Definition Separating Mascara (not pictured) and High Definition Volumizing Mascara.

The mascaras provide specific options to lift, lengthen, separate, volumize or curl with flake-proof, smudge-proof formulas that utilize the latest lash-enchancing technology. They range in price from $1.99 to $4.99. I’ve been using the High Definition Volumizing Mascara and I must say – wow, my lashes are superb. My lashes looked like I had false lashes on – so many compliments on how “open” my eyes looked. A must have for only $4.99
