SoBe Summer Fridays Sample Sale/Runway Show

And here we are again! It’s Friday….1PM….do you know where your employees are? Where else but at SoBe Lifewater Summer Fridays. This Friday, sadly is the one before the final SoBe event and it was still fab. It was all about fashion. We were given the chance to shop young designers (I’d already heard of three of them) and treated to a fashion show featuring looks from those designers. Designers included Hellz, Mary Meyer (covered her stuff at the Capsule Trade Show), Secta, Jungle Gurl, Durkl, Pegleg NYC, Melissa Shoes (I totally missed their sample sale even though I posted it on my blog – love that they’re collaborating with Vivienne Westwood), and Brian Wood (well…..he’s just fab)

When we arrived, the first thing Zia and I did was look for our friend Patty and grabbed a front row seat to the fashion show directly at the end of the runway. We grabbed a Nylon mag (which was the sponsor this time around) and grabbed drinks at the bar. Throughout the night, we took turns getting each other drinks so someone was always keeping an eye on our bags

During that time, we took turns going upstairs to get our mani/pedi/massage appointments. I decided to get a massage this time

and watched the SoBe Lizard walk down the runway

a few times, striking a few Tyra Banks-esque poses for good measure. I must say – very good runway presence

he even partaked in a little dirty dancing

At 4pm, they had everyone who was getting pampered come downstairs for the runway show. It was a short but cute showcase

After the show, we continued dancing and having fun – the SoBe drinks getting more potent (got to love those heavy handed bartenders). before we knew it, the place got really crowded

The SoBe Lizard got back on the runway for a few “bikini pics”

while Fashion Week DJ Extraordinaires, The Misshapes provided the music
