I am not happy right now. A fellow blogger and I wanted to attend the Charlotte Russe launch tonight. I got the rsvp details and responded then forwarded it to her. Most of the time she RSVPs late where as I just do it to get it out of the way as was this time.
We both arrive at the event, we check in and while she is breezed through, I’m kept waiting as my name cannot be found. I’m asked my affiliation which I give but then told that I am NOT on the guestlist. How is that possible I say that my friend is on and I am not, especially as she responded at the last minute. Did my email get lost? This is not snail mail, so there is no “Sorry it got lost in the mail”.
I am upset because this is not the first, nor the second time this has happened to me. I get an invite, respond promptly as the invite states while my fellow blogger friends might remember to rsvp a day or two before the event and yet, they are on and I am not. What gives? Am I not worthy of your event? Do you not want as much coverage as possible especially when magazines and newspapers are dying left and right?
Am I overreacting? Am I just PMSing? The first couple of times, I let it go but really, this is ridiculous. To make matters worse, I mysteriously start getting emails to check out said designer’s wares – how did they get my email if I supposedly did not rsvp? Strange, don’t you think?
