Introducing O.Y.S. (Original Young Swag) Fashion Pins

I’m always excited to read and hear about young entrepreneurs and I always wonder, how did they come up with their idea, what experiences have they had in their young lives to inspire their awesome creations. It turns out I would have personal experience with this as the 14 yr old son of a friend of mine now has his accessory line sold at retail. Let me introduce William Sparks, owner/creator/designer of O.Y.S (Original Young Swag), a fun and fashionable collection of pins that can be worn on virtually any piece of clothing by both men and women (its adorable on headbands)

This 14 yr old fashion-loving teen’s adorable accessories are all handmade by him and as of early last week, are available in two locations of Sportswear retailer, Dr. Jays. This of course is no surprise to me as William is a very talented young man, participating in and winning the majority of his school’s talent shows. Style-wise, he has always an an eye for perfectly coordinating his outfits, knowledge and ownership of the latest sneakers and an enterprising personality.

The story of how his accessories made it in-store is quite an amazing one – quite similar to a model or actor being discovered. It all started when William walked into Dr. Jays on 34th street to shop wearing one of his pins and was stopped by an Exec inquiring about  where he purchased it. He informed the Exec that his made it and the rest is history. Even though this is his first retailer, he’d already had a customer base in school friends.

O.Y.S (Original Young Swag) can be purchased at Dr. Jays at 17 W 34th Street and Dr. Jays at 256 W 125th st.
They retail for $15.00-$20.00.

I am so very proud of this young man as he is very talented, but more importantly smart! Please note that he comes from a very supportive and close knitted family, which speaks volumes. "Ms. J."
