Please be advised that my firm is requesting that you remove all liable and inflammatory comments from your blog relating to my client Mr. de Medici. In addition please be advised that your use of his image is unauthorized and prohibited and infringes on copyright laws. Further be advised that the remarks contained on the said blog have no foundation in fact or substance, however due to there content it could result in undue damage to my clients reputation , most especially if the person reading the unfounded remarks did not know my client. I am therefore requesting in order to avoid unnecessary legal action and expense that all content regarding my client as well as all images of him be removed forthwith. I appreciate your cooperation in advance and hope this can be resolved without further issue.

Well, thanks to Eva Galperin of EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation), it is confirmed that I and my blog are protected by CDA 230, which protects web, blog, and forum hosts from defamation claims arising from statements made on their websites by third parties.
I also want to say thank you to my fellow bloggers on Blog catalog (particularly jafabrit for pointing me to EFF). I say again that each person is entitled to their own opinion whether I agree with it or not. It is not my desire to defame anyone in any way.

Seriously, I keep coming back to this "situation" out of morbid curiosity.
I am sure that Mr. Loeb was so attentive to Michael's needs that he immediately dashed off a blog comment without checking spelling, grammar or context(liable? I'm sorry, did you mean libel?).
And I am equally sure that he followed up with the same comment on firm letterhead sent to your home. You know, firm letterhead that gives a name, address, phone number, fax number…
Have fun attending and writing about events in the city and forget about this guy.
still a crock of BS. michael manus is writting all of this crap to rattle your nerves everyone. looked up lawyers name…. it was his lawyer in prison. hummmm….
