Off to the Races w/ America’s Best Racing #TogaTrip

Right before Fashion Week took over our lives (and our minds), we had the pleasure of attending and enjoying a lovely day at the races thanks to America’s Best Racing. The road trip to the historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York included free passes to the track, free programs, a wonderful VIP brunch, and delicious cocktails from Prosceco and Bloody Mary Bars at Fasig-Tipton, a historic horse auction facility near the Saratoga Race Course, where horses are sometimes sold for millions, and VIP access to the Paddock, where we got up close to horses and jockeys. As we got close to the track, we started thinking about placing a few bets on the horses as we use to through sites similar to lennus.com. We decided to wait until after brunch to see how things went.

After the 3-hour ride up to Saratoga Springs, we arrived to our fab Fasig-Tipton brunch, we learned the basics of how to play the races and knowing what the odds mean from Tom Amello from Trackfacts, and female jockey, Taylor Rice, (who raced later in the day) shared her experiences being a female jockey (check out our video below).

Taylor Rice briefly shares her family’s history in horse racing and her experiences as a female jockey

After brunch, we had a very brief walk to the beautiful and historic Saratoga Race Course where we were ushered to our own private luxury suite with a perfect view of the race course, and an in-suite person to place our bets with.

The day continued with learning more about horse racing and betting (for example, we particularly learned about how horses can be scratched and disqualified for bumping into another horse), winning and losing (for us mostly winning) and the amazing visit to the paddock and more views of this historic landmark.

The Saratoga Race Course grounds offered a wealth of horse racing history and knowledge; Jockeys, owners, trainers and horses were celebrated and immortalized with placards held by lawn jockeys and cemented into the ground, these placards provided history of the horses lineage and ownership

Before this trip, we did not consider ourselves fans of horse racing but there is no denying the fun we had thanks to the wonderful people of America’s Best Racing. for anyone second guessing an enjoyable day at the races, let our amazing experience implore you to add this experience to your bucket list.
