Marina Rinaldi Night of Fashion & Russian Culture

I had the pleasure of attending an event celebrating another segment of the fashion industry; one that does not get the recognition it truly deserves – I am talking about Plus Size Fashion or rather, Curvy Fashion. I’m not talking about just any line but Luxe line, Marina Rinaldi whose celebration of fashion was hosted by Nadia Digilov of Celebrating-Instyle

The Marina Rinaldi line, named after the grandmother of the Founder and President of Max Mara, Cav. Achille Maramotti, who, in 1850, owned a dressmaker’s shop in the town of Reggio Emilia. This collection for women size 10-24 was created in 1980 under the Max Mara group. Before that time there were no companies making clothes for women with a few extra padding to satisfy their desire for fashion

I got a chance to look around the store (toting a glass of champagne from the numerous handsome servers)

with the help of Marina Rinaldi’s amazing Stylists, Olivia Haynes (right) and Dorothy Fernandez (left). Dorothy just happens to be the mother of former America’s Next Top Model judge, Nole Marin, who I believe should be asked back to the show ASAP (it’s getting ridiculous and needs to go back to it’s early days)

They were both amazing in showing me the beauty of the line. I actually got some video of Olivia showcasing the Luxe coat collection

I saw a few pieces that I thought were very interesting, most of which were jackets

Including on very cute plaid jacket that a customer tried on later in the event

She also tried on a beautifully vibrant purple suit, it fit her so perfectly but just incase it didn’t, Marina Rinaldi has a tailor on staff ready to custom fit your purchases

One thing that stood out to me is the fact that they dress a curvy woman fom head to toe, Marina Rinaldi not only offers clothing but accesories as well – modern chic bags and fun shoes

Any curvy woman who shops in this store will appreciate the fact that the shoes are not labeled “Wide”, they are simply cut larger. Bravo to Marina Rinaldi and Max Mara for creating an amazingly chic line for women who have a bit more to love. I truly enjoyed myself at this event, so much so that I completely forgot to enjoy any hors d’oeuvres (though the champagne keep me company) and almost didn’t enter the raffle for the gorgeous Estella bag

I haven’t heard anything yet so I guess maybe I didn’t win but I did get to take a large Dark Caramel Europei Patent Tote as a giftbag. Is it a beauty? This photo doesn’t not do it any justice
