Ann Taylor Loft invited press to a garden of chic to preview their 2010 Spring Collection which will be available in store in February. I walked into the very fragrant and colorful Banchet Flower Shop (located in the meatpacking district) surrounded by these beautiful florals
But the flowers weren’t the only beautiful blooms (bad pun?) – I was enchanted by all the various looks, the vibrant prints and colors
the bold, chunky “statement” accessories (which I love)
and also the soft colors, the light and flowing fabrics, the ultra relaxed feel and youthful spirit of the collection
As usual, there are always pieces that catch your eye and naturally, this time was no exception. I particularly love the intricate details of the collection such as the gathered collar of this beautiful trench coat
the feminine ruffles, the combination of basic pieces with subtle and eye-catching touches and fabrications, like the navy polka-dot scarf featured in a few of the looks below. Another detail, (I know you can’t really tell but) the Navy zipper trench in the middle photo below) has bows on the sleeves – so adorable
Another favorite of mine was the Dot print dress with the larger dot applique – subtle touches to a basic shape
My ultimate favorites and the pieces I will be adding to my wish list (next to a smaller butt) are first, this amazing pencil skirt (this is where the smaller butt comes in) matched with this very cool tee
The tonal Ribbon Placket V-neck cardigan, which I would totally wear over a pop of color
and last but certainly not least, this butter soft Ruched Leather Jacket. My favorite thing about this piece – the sleeves. They are a very modern length, longer than 3/4 but shorter than a full length and in a very soft grey – a must for spring
