My favorite home and personal fragrance company, diptyque Paris held an event with a fantastic charity organization, Bottomless Closet NYC – an organization which “helps disadvantaged New York City women enter and succeed in the workforce and improve the quality of their lives.“ Although Bottomless Closet accepts mostly clothing (which is always needed), this event was geared more towards Accessories. If you brought an accessory to donate, you received a fabulous gift bag with any purchase. I made sure to collect from people I knew as well as rummage through my own closet. I also got a chance to get some more information on Bottomless Closet – pardon the noise, it was a lively event.
Making a purchase was easy as I was in need of more of my favorite soap, the lovely floral L’Ombre dans L’eau
I usually stock up on my diptyque paris products so I don’t get to go here too often but at this event, I did discover a few new products at dipyque. First was the newest fragrance, Vetyverio (which is available now), like the L’Ombre dans L’eau, is part of the diptyque floral family.
Vetyverio is described as “both masculine and feminine in its appeal, Vetyverio marries masculine vetiver with feminine floral bouquets. The result? A passionate eau de toilette that remains faithful to its betrothed.”
My next discovery was an interesting combination and a percentage of its purchase goes towards a great cause. I’m talking about the (diptyque) RED Spcial Edition Candle – a spicy mix of Madagascar Vanilla, Indian Vanilla and Rooibos. 10% of its purchase goes towards the Global Fund, helping provide life-saving medications to Africans with AIDS.
The last discovery was the collection in honor of an ingenious fashion designer – welcome to The Essence of John Galliano
The “subtle, woody scent is reminiscent of smoldering birch wood embers tinted with hints of iris and vanilla musk.” It is also said to have notes of leather, moss and myrrh. The scent is available in a candle and a room spray, as of now, I’ve heard of no words yet for an eau de toilette.
