Robert Verdi’s Fashion Weekend Retreat!

One of the events I really look forward to during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and that’s Robert Verdi’s retreats.

Not only is it a fun event which gives us a to relax, revitalize and re-energize ourselves during the hectic fashion week schedules, we get to be introduced or re-introduced to some amazing brands and products. The first thing I noticed was the colelction of Coca-Cola products, each of which had a ring attached to it. They were actually Fashion Pops from Robert Verdi and Coca-Cola. Fashion Pops are limited edition custom rings matched with each of the aluminum bottles of Coca-Cola products. Each Fashion pop is unique to its owner’s personality and flavor.

I read the different personality and flavor descriptions and discovered I am a Sprite – “crisp, clean and fresh. Sprite sparks fresh thinking and inspired action. Like a classic white tee that transforms to the personal style of each individual, Sprite’s perspective is at once true to self and open-minded, experiential and action-oriented, straight forward and a culture-bender.” See the rest of the descriptions below – which one are you?

My next stop was to Jee Vice Optic Couture and couture it is. Jee Vice is a luxury fashion eyewear line handcrafted in France and Italy made exclusively for women. I really fell in love with  the Fabulous in Peacock and Black (shown below), the shape, the color – so chic but don’t just take my word for it – the evidence is in a vast celeb fans such as Rihanna, Kate Beckinsale, Fergie, etc.

Next I was on to discover Tulle, maker of fashionable vintage inspired Jackets and Coats as well as sweaters, dresses, beautiful knits, accessories, etc. Several pieces caught my eye, like this Tulle 3-Button Cotton Poncho with Honeycomb detail

I also discovered some amazing jeans from Vintage Revolution Jeans. New to the premium denim marketplace, Vintage Revolution Jeans are slated to take over Fall 2010. Not only do they own the biggest denim factories in North America, they have Michael Press at the helm as the brand’s President. For those of you are not familiar, Michael Press is the former President of Earnest Sewn and VP at Paige Denim and Koos Manufacturing (Koos does the great AG Jeans). As of today, they count Tracy Morgan, Taryn Brooks and Khloe Kardashian (who picked up her paid at Robert Verdi’s Retreat) as their celeb fans.

I love, love love Vintage revolution in the color Java as seen above). The beauty of Vintage Revolution Jeans is that they are inspired by the history of denim; they’re offering us denim in its original form (hence the name). VR Jeans will be sold at Bloomingdale’s, Fred Segal, Lisa Kline, etc.

Another great company showcased was Panasonic, which showed us two wonderful products. First up was the Panasonic 360 ° Freestyle Cordless Iron – a lightweight cordless iron which has pointed ends on both sides. The iron features auto shut-off after 10 min, a detachable water tank, an anti-drip feature, a convenient case for storage and carrying, etc

Panasonic also showed what must be the most amazing massage chair – the Panasonic Massage Sofa Chair, a massage chair that delivers a balanced full body massage. Not only does it massage your entire body including your calves and under your feet, it measures your height to massage you accordingly to give you the best massage ever.

Other brands I stopped by included Linea Pelle Handbags. My favorite was the Dylan Folding Tote in Iron (pictured below). As you can see this washed Italian leather tote is two bags in one.

During the Fashion Weekend retreat, they introduced Linea Pelle Vintage Collection of handbags, wallets, belts, bracelets and cuffs (the Sliced Leather Bracelets are also especially cute)

The last station I visited was the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Coffee Bar. I was introduced to some amazing new (futuristic) and chic coffee and cappuccino makers from Nescafe’s Dolce Gusto Collection. The two which stood out were the Piccolo  (pictured below) and the Circolo (the most stylish), which is pictured below in red and grey.

These machines don’t just make you a fantastic cappuccino, you can mix different flavors – why not have a Mocha Latte Macchiato or maybe just a Mocha with extra chocolate by adding Hot Chocolate. I was very impressed with the drinks that they made, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that these machines don’t even make it onto the list of the Best Cappuccino Makers that are available on the web. There must be some seriously good machines out there – I need to try them!!

Other styles include the Melody 2 and the Creativa. I can’t wait to have one of my own. Although I didn’t get a chance to stop by them, I noted that Red Door Spas, Ginger+Liz, Acuvue, Blue Print Cleanse and Farrow and Ball were also in attendance.
