The Second Annual Orlane and Afghan Hands Fundraiser at the Longchamp Soho store to raise money for Afghan Hands, a nonprofit educational organization that teaches skills to help Afghan widows gain independence, literacy, and livable wages. Several celebs attended the event to show their support including Cynthia Nixon, Claire Danes and RHONY’s Kelly Bensimon
Matin Maulawizada, one of the most sought after fashion and celebrity make-up artists working today is also the founder of Afghan Hands, Inc. He spoke about the wonderful things that Afghan Hands has done and the impact the organization has had on the Afghan women. He then opened the floor for the night’s auctioneer who was welcomed by a riveted and anxious-to-bid crowd
Attendees helped raise money by purchasing the pillows and scarves made by Afghan women who created these embroidered beauties at the Afghan Hands centers in and around Kabul. “The centers are places to gather, study, and work. Afghan Hands pay the women to attend classes in the morning and embroider in the afternoon.”
This event was also a chance for Orlane Paris to introduce and sample its newest amazing product, Crème Royale Cou Et Décolleté – a rich anti-aging, creme made from Royal Jelly, plant-based components and 24-carat gold.
