Kipling’s 25th Anniversary & New “Play with Bags” Global Art Project

I was invited to join in celebrating global accessories brand, Kipling, on their 25th anniversary and experience their new global art project “Play with Bags”, featuring acclaimed photographer, Paul Graves. Along with Graves, Kipling invited seven other artists from around the world to create imaginative ways to remix its bags. The artists (besides Paul Graves) included Vincent Gapaillard, Rankin, Alex Salinas, Sarah Illenberger, Javier Mariscal, Li Wei and Prince Lauder (all their works are featured below)

These creative minds were called together to “Play with Bags” using the Kipling Classics Collection, a small collection of re-editions of some of Kipling’s famous vintage bags adapted with today’s spirit in mind, bursting with the season’s key shades of tangerine and electric blue. The Classics Collection includes – the Fundamental Backpack, The Art M Tote, Creativity Mini and the Siras Duffle.

Famed photographer, Paul Graves (pictured below standing next to his work) recreated his life-sized photograph of a modern interpretation of a totem pole, which was on display at the 25th Anniversary event.

The 25th Anniversary also included the launch of a unique Kipling website, www.25yearskipling.com, to keep fans updated on all the new and exciting projects and collaborations the accessory company has to offer for 2012. Fans of the brand can expect to see behind the scenes and promotions of all 2012 projects, sneak peaks of upcoming events and activities and exclusive imagery.
