Katya Leonovich Spring 2013 Collection

Designer Katya Leonovich showed softer, less avant garde looks for her Spring 2013 Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. While we still saw painted fabrics, peek-a-boo cutouts and the beige, green, blue and purple hues we saw in her Fall 2012 Collection, fabrics were significantly softer and more feminine for spring. Light as air dresses were seen in Charmeuse, Chiffon and Taffeta making each model seem like walking art pieces, which is exactly what Katya obviously wanted to project as she was inspired by paintings she had hanging in her studio.

I loved her pairing of metallic leather with the soft free flowing fabrics and crinkled taffeta with sheer chiffon but my favorite looks featured the gorgeous painted leather corsets (as seen in the first set of photos)

But those gorgeous corsets weren’t the most talked about looks at her show. Katya had two models walk the runway simultaneously each wearing a dress with the image of President Barak Obama and Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney
