PreEvnt, a branch of Scosche Industries known for pioneering award-winning consumer technology, proudly announces the launch of isaac by PreEvnt Blood Glucose Alert Device at the 2025 International CES in Las Vegas, from January 7th to 10th, 2025.
isaac by PreEvnt is an innovative, non-invasive device designed to monitor blood glucose levels using a person’s breath. Compact enough to be worn on a lanyard or clipped to a pocket, it significantly reduces the need for painful finger pricks. This groundbreaking technology is ideal for individuals with Type-1 or Type-2 diabetes, pre-diabetics, or anyone seeking to track their blood glucose levels to better manage their metabolic health.
For Type-2 diabetics and pre-diabetics, understanding the body’s response to lifestyle changes can be challenging. isaac by PreEvnt addresses this gap by delivering real-time glucose readings, empowering users to make informed decisions about diet and exercise.
The device was inspired by its namesake, Isaac, the grandson of its inventor Bud Wilcox. Diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes at just two years old, Isaac’s daily struggle with finger pricks led Wilcox to develop a less invasive solution.
“Our Goal with isaac is to provide a non-invasive way to monitor glucose levels in real-time, giving diabetics and their caregivers the ability to take timely action and prevent severe complications.” – Bud Wilcox, Inventor of isaac by PreEvnt.”
Backed by five years of extensive research in collaboration with Indiana University under the guidance of Dr. M. Agarwal, isaac by PreEvnt employs patented MOx selective gas sensing technology developed by Nanoz. The device analyzes volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particularly acetone in exhaled breath, to detect elevated glucose levels, an approach akin to the methods used by service dogs trained to detect high blood sugar through VOCs.
“By identifying and analyzing the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in breath, we can develop sensors that provide early and accurate detection of glycemic conditions. This technology mimics the capabilities of diabetes alert dogs, offering a noninvasive and reliable monitoring solution.” – Dr. Agarwal, Indiana University.”
The accompanying mobile app, available for iOS and Android, enhances functionality by tracking and sharing glucose data with family members or physicians. It provides customizable alerts for rising glucose levels, ensuring timely intervention.
Rechargeable via USB-C, isaac by PreEvnt offers convenience with all-day battery life, supporting multiple breath tests per charge. While the device remains under FDA review and is not yet available for purchase in the U.S., its introduction marks a significant leap forward in diabetes management.
isaac by PreEvnt will be showcased at CES 2025, demonstrating its potential to revolutionize how individuals monitor and manage their health.
