Tasting Panel Magazine Presents the 2012 Tour of Double Gold Winners – Part 2

And now for part two of my Double Gold Winners tasting adventure. To continue my wine tasting, I’m going to begin this post with another Moscato. I must state that I don’t mention any reds because I’m a white wine girl through and through – so let’s continue

Double Gold Winner – Martin & Weyrich 2010 Moscato Allegro $11.00

Delicious, very fruity and sweet but not as sweet as the Best Moscato winner but its certainly just as enjoyable. Sweet and refreshing – what’s not to love.

Double Gold Winner & Winemaker of the Year – Francis Ford Coppola Chardonnays

Both the Francis Ford Coppola 2010 Chardonnay Director’s ($17.00) and the 2011 Chardonnay Rosso & Bianco ($11.00) won Double Gold and the Winery won the Andre Tchelistcheff Winemaker of the Year award. I found myself enjoying the 2011 Rosso & Bianco more as it was slightly sweeter than other Chardonnays I’ve tasted. Both Chards were light, crisp and fruity.

Double Gold Winner & Best Chardonnay – Five Rivers 2010 Chardonnay $11.00

A thoroughly enjoyable Chardonnay, very light and smooth, almost subtle. Light enough to enjoy at any time of the day. Although I didn’t partake in the tasting of the next featured spirits, I did enjoy the silhouettes and intricate details of their bottles. From the female figures etched into the Tavi Tequila Anejo bottle and stopper to the hand-made and hand decorated clay medallion on the Dos Armadillos Reposado Tequila
