Carlos Miele Spring 2012 Collection

Carlos Miele’s Spring 2012 Collection was the epitome of a stunning landscape swirling with bright colours of vibrant sea blue, yellow, orange and sea green. The long vibrant Blue Silk Charmeuse Dress with rope detail that strutted down the runway reflected the ocean waves with its ruched detailing.

While the Black & White Sea Cliff Print Silk Charmeuse Short Dress (above middle) reflected a semi-precious stone edged out of a glacier mountain top but the yellow Goldfish Print Silk Charmeuse Short Dress (above right) was at the opposite extreme, looking like sand blasted waves.

We also loved the White Shell Silk Charmeuse Short Dress with Beige detail, it seems to create an optical illusion, whereas the Black & White Sea Cliff Print Silk Charmeuse Long Dress with Fuxico Applique seemed to spit out ocean waves of flowers plunging seeming together.

Other favorites included the Black & White Sea Cliff Print Silk Chiffon Top, which was paired with a lovely pair of white Shell Viscose Wide Pants; the White Shell Silk Charmeuse Long Dress with embroidered and ruched detail evoked a the softness of delicate whipped clouds. We also loved the fact that he mixed in some greens to complement the black, white, yellow and blue shown in the collection, the Fish Skin Print Silk Charmeuse dresses and jumpsuit were an ode to the various and colorful creatures that call the ocean their home.

Carlos Miele’s inspiration was the “Immersive Landscape, born from the idea of immersive artificial environments which can be created by virtual reality”. His designs reflected his inspiration perfectly.
