CALL IT SPRING Store Opening

It may be the end of summer but get ready to “Call It Spring”. This newest retailer is a shoe and handbag store that targets 15-30 yr old recessionistas with offerings of a less expensive and younger line of men’s and women’s shoes and handbags.

Call it Spring held a media opening launch event on September 1st in their strategically placed (above JC Penny in the Manhattan Mall) where they offered each guest a $150 giftcard to shop the store’s offerings – I don’t know about you but that is a genius way to make sure you get a great crowd and boy did they ever.

Men and Women, Fashion, footwear and beauty bloggers packed into the first floor store to shop the variety of very reasonably priced cute heels, flats, sexy boots and handbags, all which were very much on trend for this season.

Some big looks this season include lace covered shoes, over the knee boots, shoes and boots with laces, hardware, oxford-style shoes from flats to boots all priced not to damage your wallet. Call it Spring offers you current trends at JC Penny budget-friendly prices (I cannot stress that enough). Per their press information, “Designers and Buyers for Call It Spring trend forecast a year in advance collecting up to date design inspirations from street styles, trade and runway shows as well as traveling to major fashion centers to create a bold and unique line that they know the customer demands. Trends and new styles are added throughout the seasons in order to fulfill all shoe cravings!”

I got there early and was very smart to do so as I got the last pair of a particularly cute heel. I managed to get two pairs of heels (the crowd made it impossible to see another other choices) – see my purchases below – I actually did something I never do and stayed away from black this time, I got both shoes in tan

I’m not sure how long Call it Spring will be here but I hope its for a long time as the area was in desperate need of an affordable shoe store and it will be the perfect companion to shopping at JC Penney. I tried to get an interview with PR Director, Effie Giannou, but as you can see from the first two photos of this post, it was just a bit too hectic but I did get a photo of her

I still have a slight balance on the gift-card and now will actually be able to get a better view of the shoes and bags available. Who knows, I may get one of these pictured below:
