Davidelfin Spring 2010 Show

Davidelfin is eccentric. From the objet d’art his models had to walk through at the beginning of the runway

to his models looking like clones of himself (pale skin and bright red hair) to 95% of his collection, called Playback, was Seafoam Green which was inspired by the Polychromie Le Corbusier (a little navy was thrown in towards the end). The half draped navy and white structured shirt with tie was my favorite, I like this new play of combining masculine and feminine construction.

even his run of show was done differently, the Madrid designer had the music listing instead of the show’s garments. Davidelfin featured both male and female looks; and some very interesting pieces like the pant version of the skort (which I find is oddly chic and wearable)- I also bow down to Christian Louboutin for the shoes

and for the guys, if you’ve ever felt like wearing a one-sleeve suit or a tube top

There were some offbeat details in Davidelfin’s collection – disappearing sleeves, incomplete lapels, merging shirts with jackets and draping from shoulders, sleeves, the waist of trousers, etc. To say this was a quirky collection is an understatement but does Davidelfin have a voice and a place in the fashion industry – ABSOLUTELY!! I can’t wait to see what he does for next season. Enjoy the show finale
