You guys already know that I love color, so when a designer like Lilly Pulitzer (the collections are nothing but vibrant color and very are inspired by Palm Beach) has an event, I am so there. I love color, she loves color, she even has a colorful Monopoly Board game.
What is there left to say but LOVE
This time the event was for “A Colorful Cause”
the event, benefitting the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF) partnered with Lilly Pulitzer to celebrate it’s 50 year anniversary with “A Colorful Cause” Collection. The Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to helping scientists study and learn more about Epidermolysis Bullosa. For those of you that are not familiar, Epidermolysis Bullosa is a group of diseases characterized by blister formation after minor skin trauma or bruising. People, mostly kids, with Epidermolysis Bullosa have extremely fragile skin, as any type of bruising will cause chronic sores, and most people affected by it have little hope of living past 30 years.
Lilly Pulitzer’s Spring 2009 line features clothing designed for adults and children by actresses such as Brooke Shields, Gwyneth Paltrow, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Bridget Moynahan, Catherine Bell, Angie Harmon, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Marcia Cross and Debra Messing. My favorite was the long blue and white strapless dress by Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon
I am happy to say that the event had a wonderful turnout with plenty of people shopping and doing their part to help this amazing cause.
