After the wonderful concert event on Friday, I welcomed not having to get up early on Saturday for work or for any events. I, drugged up on Tylenol Warming liquid again, slept until about 1pm (with a slight distrubance at 7AM!!! – WHAT??!! from my friend, Runway/Model Coach Alva Page, whom I had left a message the night before about his upcoming episode of MTV’s MADE airing on Oct. 5th – I still wanted to kill him, he was too damn cheery so early in the morning).
Anyway, I did have an event to attend that night, The Premiere Book Launch Celebration of Slim Satisfied and Sexy, but it wasn’t until 7pm. So I spent the day semi-high off Tylenol and enjoying a cup or two of Hot Todies (while most people make it with Whiskey, I prefer mine with Rum, not the BS Rum, true Caribbean Rum) and oh boy did that make me feel better.
A few hours later, I was feeling MUCH better and ready to head out to the city for the cocktail party. It ended up being a very intimate event with only about 12 -15 people (Zia* was there, as well as Kim but Angelique* had to work – on a freaking Saturday night), and I felt a bit uncomfortable taking photos as it was in the publisher’s home.
So while we’re drinking wine (me, white) and eating the various delicacies (shrimp cocktail, the most tender steak I’ve ever tasted) and various hors d’oeurves, we got a chance to peruse the book, which it turns out is a diet book. Let me tell you one thing, this has go to be the best diet book ever. Why? you may ask. Let me tell you, any diet that allows you to eat these (not one but all three)
is ok by me. The idea is you constantly eat but you are limited to a certain number of calories per day, which is fine becasue you get to eat things like pancakes, burgers, etc. Hallelujah, sign me up. Before any skeptisism sneaks in, one of the guests stated that her mom (who got an advance, advance copy – she knows the people involved inthe book) has already lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks and she was previously on Jenny Craig, Weight Watches, etc. I was told that this book took a lot of years and a lot of people to put together and it looks like it was well worth the wait.
Although I didn’t take photos of the event, I do have one of the giftbag, which included the book. I’m not sure when i’ll try the diet but I do want to (maybe after I get better).
(FYI, the woman on the cover is the publisher at 56 years old, and my gosh, I bet some people reckon she could film for a website like sexmature and become somewhat popular). I can’t wait to try this diet. It was a small group but a great one, we had wonderful conversations, we left at about 10pm.
