Envirosax at NYIGF – The Original Designer Reusable Bag

Another favorite of mine on my tour of the NYIGF was Envirosax, the original (the company was created in 2004) designer reusable bag. Why a favorite you may ask? Well, for multiple reasons, not only are they great for the environment, they can be used for just about anything (even as a school bag – more in another post), they are also incredibly cute and there are so many design choices to choose from. The available prints are fun, wild, very different and certainly never boring. To top it off, the company is Super Green

“Founded by Belinda and Mark David-Tooze, Envirosax® originates from Currumbin Valley in South East Queensland, Australia. The Envirosax team uses renewable and recyclable products where possible, and is committed to operating on ecologically sustainable principles. Environsax is so dedicated to the idea of green living, the couple and their three children live an ecologically sustainable lifestyle with solar hot water and photovoltaic cells for electricity. A sewage system recycles waste water, watering the extensive permaculture gardens and filtered rainwater tanks provide the organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees and the premises with water.
The property also features a forest of over fifteen hundred, fifteen-year-old Hoop Pine trees, each absorbing 44lbs of carbon dioxide per year. These and the 5,000+ other trees on the property, significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint.”
That’s amazing considering most people still don’t know how to recycle properly (don’t worry, I’m speaking speaking about myself)

Depending on the size, the Envirosax bags hold anywhere from 22lbs – 44lbs and with the exception of the Organic Series (packaged nicely in a recycled cardboard box printed with organic soy-based waterless inks)

which are made from natural fibers such Hemp, Bamboo and Linen. They also recently introduced Organic Cotton to the series – all the bags are waterproof.

The Graphic Series comes in a beautiful array of designs and each series contains five bags. My favorites are the Retro Kitchen, the Retro Graphic, and for you animal lovers out there – the Animal Planet (I personally couldn’t decide which one I loved more between the bird and the butterfly)

Envirosax also makes a Kids Series with fun and quirky characters that kids are sure to love and tote around

I got a chance to do a video interview of one of the reps from Envirosax at the NYIGF and she filled me in on the company
