Grab Em Snacks at the Go Green Expo

If you grew up in the Caribbean, India or are of Latino descent then you are quite familiar with Plantain Chips; they derive from plantains or platanos which look similar to bananas. They can be eaten (after cooking) both while green and ripe but today we’re going to be looking at the enjoying it while green. At the Go Green Expo, we were introduced to Grab Em Snacks, who introduced us to a “create healthy and tasty snack alternatives to the ubiquitous potato chips and pretzels”.

“The story of Grab Em Snacks and our plantain chips goes back to Geetha Jayaraman’s (Grab Em Snacks’ President and Founder) childhood spent growing up in India and Malaysia where plantain chips were as ubiquitous as potato chips are today.” Many people don’t know that Plantains are actually very high in dietary fiber and not only are Grab Em Snacks delicious, they are gluten-free. Check out the nutritional details HERE.

I got a chance to speak with Geetha Jayaraman and Ramesh Jayaraman (pictured directly below) who introduced me to their very tasty array of flavors – Sea Salt, Red Chili, Black Pepper Spice, Chili Garlic, Jalapeno, Cinnamon Sugar and Cajun Seasoning

After eating one of those plantain chips, you will not associate the Lays potato chips slogan – you can’t eat just one with them anymore, that slogan should now go to Grab Em Snacks. See interview below:
