As you all know (judging by the response I got), I recently did a Dockers giveaway in celebration of Dockers and Esquire Magazine ‘s celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Fathers Day.
The event called “Khakis Make the Man, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity – A donation to Habitat for Humanity got you a pair of Dockers khakis that you could make your own at one of the customization stations.
The event, hosted by Twilight’s and Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli, was amazing for so many reasons, first when you walk in, you’re greeted by the “Khaki Diem” display (shown above and below), of course when I walked in, three gorgeous models looking quite fetching in their Dockers were what I first noticed (can I get a yummy)
then you were were shown to one of two areas where you make a donation to Habitat for Humanity and select the color, style and size of your Dockers from the wonderful people manning the “khaki bar”. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks galore and just feeling good for doing something good
The event was a continuous bustle of people trying on Dockers and having them customized by either cutting, hemming or airbrushing designs on them – in some instances all three and no alterations at all. Either way, everyone was more than happy to donate and go home with a pair of customized (or not) Dockers
Aside from the free Dockers, delicious hors d’oeuvres and those amazing Jameson and Ginger Ale drinks, there was aspecial DJ for the evening – DJ Joel Madden
I got some great video of Spin Doctor (so named by Peter Facinelli) Joel Madden and Peter Facinelli briefly speaking about the event as well as the event crowd enjoying themselves
All in all, a great event for a great cause in celebration of the wonderful fathers everywhere. On that note, I want to wish all dads, mentors, uncles, grandfathers and all who’ve ever been a father figure a Happy Father’s Day. Please find more photos from Dockers event below
