For all you Acne sufferers out there (I feel your pain), there is a great new salvation for you. Let me introduce you to Gram Skincare – a professional apothecary skincare line created by Dr. Gram, a Compounding Pharmacist and Healthy Skin Activist.
The line focuses on the treatment of skin inflammation (the biggest cause of aging) and comes in two skincare regimens – The Daily Regimen which is good on any skin type, consists of the following products:
so whether you have dry/sensitive skin, normal, oily, etc the above regimen will work wonderfully for you. The regimen I’m dying to try, the Clarifying Regimen (shown below), is specifically formulated for Acne prone skin but amazingly is free from benzoyl peroxide, which is known to generate free radicals and interfere with the healing process (something I did not know but so happy to learn)
The launch event was held at one of my favorite places, Dos Caminos. While enjoying some yummy chips and guac and other fabulous eats, we were treated to a reveal photo so we can see what our real skin looks like;
this includes seeing the negative skin effects such as sun damage (eeek!!!). The event was quite intimate so I got a chance to interview Dr. Gram himself (apologies for the low light but the event space was quite dimly lit) on his wonderful line
Dr. Gram’s line is paraben free, sulfate free, contains Nutra-Vît Complex™ (a combination of anti-oxidants, skin rejuvenators and moisturizers) and has botanical extracts. I also got a chance to speak to Carl who told me more about the Dr. Gram’s skincare kit for Men.
The kit I was shown consisted of the above shown Clarifying Cleanser and Daily Scrub but also included the Men’s Shave (which will be coming soon). The Men’s Shave is an “emollient rich cream will give a man the perfect shave. It contains Wheat Germ, Grape Seed Oil, Aloe and Salicylic Acid to help minimize irritation and shave bumps”. I really loved the fact that Carl spoke about the products from personal knowledge because he uses it. I think it speaks volumes when someone doesn’t just speak about their product but uses it as well.
On a last note, Dr. Gram also offers a line of Professional Peels (five in total) that contains apple stem cells which improves the texture of mature, oily and clogged pores, acne prone skin.
