Layering was the key focus at the Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 Show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week which I’m sure will make this normally very floral-friendly, feminine designer a huge hit with hipsters and other downtown types. Going for a more sullen collection, Rebecca Taylor featured looks of dark tones and prints, edgy mixed textures, a somber color palette that included sheer blacks, charcoal, plum, graphite, aubergine with touches of blue.
Her collection was in contrast to most of the other designers who featured bolder, brighter colors and prints for Fall. One interesting aspect of her collection were her leggings. I fell in love with the graphite chiffon, pieced leather and beaded knit leggings. If only they were available now.
