DressBarn Fall 2012 Collection

For the longest time I never thought of DressBarn as a fashion choice for me. I always thought aesthetic was too quirky, trendy, and young to shop the retailer. That was all before I saw a friend of mine in a really cute dress from DressBarn. From then on, I’ve kept my eye on what they offer – and if I had to select two words to describe what DressBarn is doing, I’d choose stylish and budget-friendly. DressBarn offers dresses and separates for the office, casual wear and cocktail attire without destroying your bank account.

The collection featured easy, hassle-free styles that pair wonderfully with whatever’s in your closet. Lots of outerwear looks featured today’s hottest fall trends – bomber-style jackets, furry vests, lace printed jackets, skirt hem jackets, chic trenches, etc

Denim was seen in several washes, colors, treatments and prints. Some styles included extras such as built-in belts. All available at amazingly low prices

While there were several looks that caught my eye, my favorites from the DressBarn Fall 2012 Collection are featured below:

Juicy Couture Fall 2012 Collection

Upon arrival into the Juicy Couture Fall 2012 Presentation, I was immediately transported to a time when color knew no bounds, prints were present in practically everything (we all remember dizzying florals, bold stripes and preppy plaids), fun, faux fur jackets were a must, and almost everything was body conscious. What am I talking about? The 90’s of course. The entire presentation was laid out in various vignettes that spread throughout the townhouse.

Remember all those 90’s movies? especially Don’t tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead – one of my favorites for its awesome 90’s fashion (hello? that awesome blue and black striped suit below – yes no more separates, we’re going full matching), Clueless (totally obvious, I know), Empire Records, etc.

The collection also included skinny pant suits a la the British fashion invasion, juicy’s signature sweats, boldly colored faux fur hats, fedoras, eye-catching prints (I’m totally in love with the floral over stripes maxi dress paired with the black motorcycle jacket with hot pink panels)

What do you think of Juicy’s 90’s inspired Fall 2012 Collection? Do you have any favorite looks?

Dawn Levy Fall/Winter 2012 Outerwear Presentation

As Creative Director of successful outerwear brand, Laundry, Dawn Levy introduced her own label to much success. The line features competitively priced luxury outerwear in lush fabrics, some with and without fur trims. With her outerwear already a top seller at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Saks, Dawn Levy down coats, furs, trenches and anoraks are a rare and amazing find among outerwear brands whose designs often lose the shape of the female silhouette. It’s chic outerwear that’s warm but not voluminous.

With retail prices ranging from $600 to $1,500, Dawn Levy fills the gap in the affordable luxury coat department. One of my favorites from her Fall/Winter 2012 collection is the above Minka Double Faced Wool Jacket with Leather Sleeves. This stunning jacket features two of this season’s best trends – wool and leather elegantly combined in a V-neck wrap silhouette with single button closure

While the full length coats were sublime, I was wowed by her sorter pieces like her camel -colored Piper Wool & Cashmere Wrap Coat that features a shawl collar which drapes back into a slouchy hood. Dawn Levy designs are a must-have for those blistering fall and winter days.

Innovative Fall 2012 Footwear from Geox

Geox, known for their trademark breathing system for shoes, brings quality detail and craftsmanship to their latest Fall 2012 Collection. Expanding on those advancements, Geox introduces it’s new groundbreaking technology, Amphibiox, the new generation waterproof line. With this latest collection, Geox continues to fuse fashion and innovative technology to ensure a comfortable and stylish variety of footwear for today’s urban, on-the-go fashionista.

The collection features several classic that allow women to showcase their confidence and femininity. Styles like the super feminine Cleopatra T-Strap in (available in nappa suede and brushed leather), the luxe breathable and waterproof D Lola Ballet Flat and more trendy silhouettes like the cool, quilted Geobuck patent leather Winter Club Sneaker to the boldly colored Nubuck leather oxford and sneaker wedges are some of my favorites.

All of the above styles and more are engrained with Geox’s signature breathable materials (including rubber and leather soles), exclusive microporous material, and waterproof hybrid sole. What do you think of Geox’s latest collection?

Hanes Silk Reflections’ Fall 2012 Legwear Collection

As the temperature gets cooler (ok…cold – I was freezing yesterday), it’s time to the full embrace of fall fashion and accessories and one huge part of that is hosiery and legwear, which has taken on a more practical approach without sacrificing style. For Fall 2012, Hanes Silk Reflections presents some very innovative and fashionable legwear:

Convertible Hosiery: Today’s legwear can help make a quick change with ease, comfort and style. New Blackout Convert-A-Tights can take you from the airport to dinner in no time. Wear them as tights and then as leggings or vice versa.

Boot Solutions: The answer to opaque tights “slipping and sliding” in boots. Boot Liner Tights incorporate a knit-in, micro-rib, comfort sock for added warmth and traction without the bulk. The ultimate boot solution with the perfect Blackout Leg.

Ultra Sheer Glamour: High waist control top style with run resist technology updates today’s popular sheer hosiery. A fusion of beauty and innovation that smoothes and slims the entire torso for a perfectly polished appearance.

Fashion Textures: Opaque tights are refreshed with prints and unexpected patterns in Lace Trellis, Chevron and Geo Net.

Raven Denim Fall 2012 Collection

There are a few denim brands that have become staples in my wardrobe as I’m sure is the case for most of you but as with anyone who loves discovering new things, I was happy to be introduced to this “anti-casual” denim brand called Raven Denim. Known mainly for their very flattering, signature wide bootleg denim trouser, the Mackenzie, and heralded by designer Ya-el Torbati, Raven Denim brings a refreshing and upscale take on denim. In addition to the popularity of the Mackenzie trouser, the Remy skinny, Sadie Kick straight-leg, and Mackie slim-boot trouser have also become signatures in the line. For Fall 2012, we see lots of richly colored corduroy (trousers and jeans) in varying silhouettes.

One of my favorites from Raven Denim is actually anything with their Arrows print (see above). This print while doesn’t compete with or overpower the styles, giving them a cool and fresh look. Other exciting news for Raven Denim is their collaboration with designer Stephen Burrows – a first foray into denim for Burrows in a long time and a first collaboration for Raven Denim.

Featuring Burrows’ trademark red stitching, the denim collection, inspired by Burrows’ muses, featured highwaisted short shorts and skinny bottoms in both bold prints, dark blues and black and is set to retail between $165.00 to $218.00.

Lands’ End Canvas Fall 2012 Collection

As you’re shopping for your Fall wardrobe, make sure you check out the offerings from the Lands’ End Canvas Fall 2012 collection. With a collection of dresses that are seasonless and take you from day to night, fun skirts that flow with the body, fun prints (check out the fox print blouse), chunky sweaters, shrunken blazers, menswear-inspired oxford shirts, colorful chinos, etc.

My favorite dresses and skirts from the collection (featured below) include the Navy Silk Dot Dress paired with the Skinny V-neck Cardigan and shrunken Herringbone Blazer, the chic colorblock Pleated Skirt, the High-waisted large Dot Skirt with matching belt paired with the Sunset Cardigan and the Kelly green Bohemian elastic waist dress with gold embellishments

As you can see, Lands’ End Canvas, which is younger and a bit trendier than it’s sister brand, has looks for anything whether you’re looking for something for work, play or something in between. My favorite thing about the Lands’ End Canvas Collection is it’s versatility and the fact that the pieces can be layered without looking its chic appeal. I love how casual pieces are paired with more sophisticated looks and neutral accessories accent bold hues and adding or removing one item can take your look for comfy casual to evening chic.

I have chosen my favorite looks and I know I’m not alone in loving this collection. What are your favorites?
