Custo Barcelona once again took Mercedes-Benz fashion Week attendees on a colorful and graphic adventure to a “universe through the filter of transparencies” called X-ray. The collection featured one-of-a-kind fabrics and innovative textures. “X-ray exudes architectural lines and sheer, comfortable volumes, together with pieces that hug more closely to the body. Graphics inspired by the seabed, the cosmos and the constellations are also prominent on the lighter pieces and can be found on mirror-like fabrics and silk and nylon transparencies.”
Key fabrics seen in the collection include netting, tulle, geometric lace, lurex, metallic film prints, and colored elastic bands. As with each season, we saw lots of color at Custo, from pastels and whites to shocking acid green punctuated with black.
The collection “represented an avant-garde fusion of colors to form dresses, tunics, unstructured suits and even a swimwear line”. I haven’t attended the Custo Show in a while and this vibrant collection was a perfect way to be welcomed back into Custo’s colorful world. I look forward to adding to my small Custo Barcelona collection
