First, what makes rum overproof? Most rums are 80 to 100 proof or 40% to 50% alcohol by volume and Rums with a higher concentration of alcohol (not diluted with water) are often labeled as overproof. The Cockspur 130 Overproof Rum is not aged and has more vanilla, molasses, mango, and banana than any of the other Cockspur rums giving it a sweet taste to balance out its strength.
