Zac Posen for Target Collection Launch

Every so often, there is an event that is a “MUST ATTEND” and the Zac Posen for Target Launch was such an event. Many people clamored and begged for an invitation to this “you had to be there” launch event because… really….it IS Zac Posen. What was definitely the most anticipated collaboration with Target was truly a celebration. The New Yorker Hotel was transformed into a festive carnival atmosphere, a bit of New Orleans in New York right down to the masquerade masks, pink boudoir chaises in the VIP, heavy and dark curtains that hid the VIP VIP area, crystal beads hanging from all areas and a gorgeous arrangement of flowers that was about the size of a water fountain in Central Park.

Yes the Zac Posen for Target Collection was a celebration. As soon as you walked in, you were greeted by suited men (all male models no doubt) who directed you to the inside red carpet (not to be confused with the red carpet madness going on outside) to take a quick Polaroid or two against the Zac Posen backdrop. Then the 1920’s cigarette girls gifted you with your choice of masquerade masks, party noise maker and candy

while more male models serving some very tasty cocktails. All this and shopping too. The crew and I arrived fairly early as this event was separated into three segments – The Blogger Event (at which we were present), the main private celebration (8pm -11pm) and the public event (the 24 hr event).

While all this was going on, we saw several guests periodically walking around with piles of the clothing in their arms. Time to shop – but first must capture the collection on film. The collection was filled with cute girly dresses, vibrant colors and prints, prints, prints. My favorite was the multi-colored jacquard dress directly below (unfortunately I was too slow to get my size)

I tried hunting down the Zac Posen Lipstick t-shirt but it must have been gone before we even got there because though I searched, it was nowhere to be found. How can you not love it?

Girl Rock Band, The Like, performed, dressed all in Zac Posen for Target Collection – all looking very chic and owning the Rocker Chick look

Of course, the event brought out many celebrities (many wearing the collection). I missed getting most of them but I got Zac Posen and one or two celebs and I was happy with that. I got Zac Posen with Selma Blair, Patricia Field, Alex Wek, Mena Suvari. Claire Danes walked right by me but one my girls was asking me some questions and so I missed her (thanks Kim, lol)

We partied, drank, ate, most importantly…shopped and by the time we were ready to leave the event, most of the clothing racks looked like this

But the people coming in for the 24 hr public sale at 11pm didn’t need to worry as we were told the pop-up store would be restocked in time for their arrival. And judging from the line we saw when we left, restocking was definitely needed

We asked the first people on line what time they got there, we were told 6pm – now that’s fashion dedication
