K-Fashion Sensation Hosted by Patricia Field

The Korean Fashion Association celebrated Korean fashion at the K-Fashion Sensation event held at The Dream Downtown. Hosted and styled by world-renowned stylist, Patricia Field, this season’s K-Fashion Sensation introduced two Korean brands, Morine Comte Marant and Buckaroo Jeans to a crowd of cool hipsters, buyers and press.

Stemming from her recent visit to Seoul in June, Patricia Field was invited by the Korean Government to visit the stores of the two brands and present them to the New York crowd. The presentation themed, “Good Girls Love Bad Boys” contrasted Morine Comte Marant’s flirty, feminine style against Buckaroo Jean’s tough, masculine image.

I love the youthful sophistication in the Morine Comte Marant. The collection features looks that are feminine, colorful, and sweet and chic. Definitely a happy collection, even the black pieces. I must note that another fun aspect of this event was the introduction to Charli, the soccer playing robot who responded to you when you asked him a question.

Helen Yarmak Spring 2012 Collection

For the crisp coolness of early Spring, Helen Yarmak wants to dress you up in brilliant, bold, candy colored fur. Fox fur jackets, coats, vests and ponchos will be available in lime green, lemon yellow, ruby red, midnight blue, etc

Some of the brightly colored fur collection also featured non-traditional aspects such as over-sized zippers, short sleeves coats and cropped jackets. My favorites looks from the collection are featured below

Helen Yarmak also introduced a new luxury Tee Shirt Collection for Spring 2012. Cotton and Spandex were combined to create chic dresses in soft and bold tropical colors to coordinate with the fur collection. This range included elongated tees, sleeveless sheaths and one shoulder silhouettes with insertions of nude netting

You may also notice the ornate jewelry pieces the models are wearing – The Helen Yarmak Jewelry Collection is just as bold as the rest of her collection. It features Sapphire and Diamond Butterfly Earrings, Button-sized Emerald Earrings, bold rings, a gorgeous ruby red tulip neck piece that reminded me of art and a beguiling Diamond Zipper.

it was no surprise to see Patricia Field in the audience as several of Helen Yarmak’s furs and jewelry have been featured on Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, etc

As a lover of color, i’m still drooling over the Helen Yarmak Spring 2012 Collection and will most likely continue to do so for a long while.

Zac Posen for Target Collection Launch

Every so often, there is an event that is a “MUST ATTEND” and the Zac Posen for Target Launch was such an event. Many people clamored and begged for an invitation to this “you had to be there” launch event because… really….it IS Zac Posen. What was definitely the most anticipated collaboration with Target was truly a celebration. The New Yorker Hotel was transformed into a festive carnival atmosphere, a bit of New Orleans in New York right down to the masquerade masks, pink boudoir chaises in the VIP, heavy and dark curtains that hid the VIP VIP area, crystal beads hanging from all areas and a gorgeous arrangement of flowers that was about the size of a water fountain in Central Park.

Yes the Zac Posen for Target Collection was a celebration. As soon as you walked in, you were greeted by suited men (all male models no doubt) who directed you to the inside red carpet (not to be confused with the red carpet madness going on outside) to take a quick Polaroid or two against the Zac Posen backdrop. Then the 1920’s cigarette girls gifted you with your choice of masquerade masks, party noise maker and candy

while more male models serving some very tasty cocktails. All this and shopping too. The crew and I arrived fairly early as this event was separated into three segments – The Blogger Event (at which we were present), the main private celebration (8pm -11pm) and the public event (the 24 hr event).

While all this was going on, we saw several guests periodically walking around with piles of the clothing in their arms. Time to shop – but first must capture the collection on film. The collection was filled with cute girly dresses, vibrant colors and prints, prints, prints. My favorite was the multi-colored jacquard dress directly below (unfortunately I was too slow to get my size)

I tried hunting down the Zac Posen Lipstick t-shirt but it must have been gone before we even got there because though I searched, it was nowhere to be found. How can you not love it?

Girl Rock Band, The Like, performed, dressed all in Zac Posen for Target Collection – all looking very chic and owning the Rocker Chick look

Of course, the event brought out many celebrities (many wearing the collection). I missed getting most of them but I got Zac Posen and one or two celebs and I was happy with that. I got Zac Posen with Selma Blair, Patricia Field, Alex Wek, Mena Suvari. Claire Danes walked right by me but one my girls was asking me some questions and so I missed her (thanks Kim, lol)

We partied, drank, ate, most importantly…shopped and by the time we were ready to leave the event, most of the clothing racks looked like this

But the people coming in for the 24 hr public sale at 11pm didn’t need to worry as we were told the pop-up store would be restocked in time for their arrival. And judging from the line we saw when we left, restocking was definitely needed

We asked the first people on line what time they got there, we were told 6pm – now that’s fashion dedication
