Vita Coco 100% Coconut Water – Replenishing, Refreshing & Revitalizing

No matter what anyone says, on days like this when the temperature and the humidity are at a ridiculous high, there is absolutely nothing that quenches your thirst and cools you down like a nice cold coconut water. That is why when the temperature started creeping past the 90 degree mark, out came the very refreshing Vita Coco Coconut Water

What makes Vita Coco the standout among other coconut waters? “The coconut water used in Vita Coco comes from green coconuts, not brown coconuts. Young green coconuts are loaded with nutrients, electrolytes and healthful benefits.” Vita Coco is national beverage brand based on a single ingredient: fresh coconut water. Vita Coco is available in a variety of flavors and sizes, and offers the widest selection of flavors and sizes amongst all other coconut water brands.

People from the Caribbean have known the benefits of coconut water for eons, I mean anytime you visit the islands, one of the first things you’re offered is a fresh young coconut filled with refreshing water and if you notice, they’re happier, healthier and hydrated. Why?  Because coconut water offers a long list of benefits:

  •  free of fat, cholesterol, and sugar; low in acidity
  • Contains five essential electrolytes–potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, and phosphorous
  • helps to promote weight loss
  • helps keeps the body cool and at room temperature
  • helps carry nutrients and oxygen to cells and boosts circulation
  • helps detoxify your body and boosts your immune system
  • helps relieve stomach ailments

and lets not forget that it tastes incredibly good!!!

I can personally attest to another benefit of coconut water, particularly Vita Coco; as a migraine sufferer, hydration is essential (the majority of my migraine attacks are because I am dehydrated or very hungry/have low sugar). Two small Vita Cocos work wonders for me, I always keep a stash in my fridge for such occasions. This may not work for all but it does for me. It has cut my migraine prescription intake by half.

As you can tell by the photo above, Vita Coco has introduced several flavor combinations; while I do love the original coconut water, I have discovered and fell in love with the Passion Fruit

 Pineapple

 Tangerine

and Acai & Pomegrante (I haven’t tried the Peach & Mango yet)

Now, just because Vita Coco has all these wonderful health benefits doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it. In fact I had loads of fun over the weekend and actually discovered a new drink. My first was to add a dash or two of Bacardi Classic Cocktails Pina Colada (which is infused with Coconut Water) to my regular Vita Coco Coconut Water

My next fun drink and new discovery was to mix the delightfully smooth Stoli White Pomegranik mixed with Vita Coco Acai and Pomegrante. I must say I didn’t know what to expect but I figured I’d have a winner and I was right – a very smooth drink to the last drop.

So remember, on those 90 plus degree days or any day for that matter, stay away from the gatorades, sodas, plain waters, etc. Reach for a Vita Coco Coconut instead, you’ll be happier, cooler, more refreshed and healthier. Where can you purchase Vita Coco you may be asking? There are over 14,000 retailers such as Amazon.com, Whole Foods, Stop and Shop, airports, etc. (I usually buy mine at Whole foods but sometimes I get a good deal on amazon).

If you’re still not sure about buying Vita Coco (though I don’t know why you wouldn’t be), checkout the list of celebrities who are die hard fans: Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gisele Bündchen (Brazilians know their coconut water), Rihanna (Caribbean people too), Adrien Grenier, Chris Pine, Demi Moore, Anna Paquin, Steven Moyer, etc

I love the passion fruit but I may say I consistently find myself reaching for the original

YUMM love the tangerine flavor. It's so tasty and yes if you mix it with alcohol it's a great chaser – and healthy too! The packaging also makes it able to store Vita Coco so you can keep them for a long time! Kudos!

This is a fabulous drink! Always drinking it on the go to stay energized and up to beat with my daily tasks. Pineapple is my favorite flavor by far, but I enjoy them all. Definitely try it before or after working out – you'll see what I'm talking bout!

Absolutely not a fad, coconut water had always been around and its here to stay. Vita Coco is the closest to going to the islands picking a coconut and drinking it.

Oh I am very familiar with too much potassium but for some reason only from eating too many bananas. The coconut water has never affected me negatively

This is a great, refreshing drink. I tried it at the TRC Fashionable night out event. You can't drink too much because it's high in potassium.
