For four design students from the Vantan Design Institute in Japan, dreams came true on February 11th as their presented their collections to media en masse at their first Mercedes Benz Fashion Week appearance. Yuya Kubohara, Cheryl Chee, MI-S by Masato Miyata and Swanzi by Anki each showed off their talent and design aesthetic during New York’s most important week in fashion.
Yuya Kubohara (photos by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) presented eye-catching prints in warm tones – combining various prints with one another and offsetting that with either sleek silver tones or pops of color.
Cheryl Chee gave us elegant looks with neutral prints and lots of blacks – we saw New York’s favorite color in sheer chiffon, fur, leather, etc.
MI-S by Masato Miyata featured the boldest colors of the entire show. Like many designers this season, Miyata featured an array of vibrant prints and colors for fall much to the delight of show-goers.
Swanzi by Anki, by designer, Cheung Siu Yan featured lots of movement. Harmonious blues were paired with rich black in airy fluttering silhouettes.
