One of my favorite shows this season was the divine collection from Carlos Miele’s Fall 2012. His collection was elegant, sophisticated and so very fabulous. Leading from natural tones – ecru, taupe, tans and oatmeal to such bold colors like chartreuse, tangerine, fushia and gold lamé coupled with various geometric prints (I am in love with his pampa print – it might be because of the yellow/black combo, but it reminds me of a vast sunflower field)), the Southern Brazil (particularly the women from Rio Grande do Sul) inspired collection definitely hit a high note with editors (yours truly included).
A few favorites included the Ecru Bolero jacket with metal grommets and laced tiras, the Pampa print silk charmeuse and black silk chiffon taffeta gown and the pampa print dress in silk charmeuse with draped tiras detail. The patterns of tradition gaúcho sashes and ponchos also inspired Carlos Miele, who used sashes and hats made from authentic gaúches in his collection.
