Motions Curls, Cocktails and Converstions with Ursula Stephen

Hello all, it’s Jane again. It’s been a while but I’m still here to share my wonderful experiences. I enjoyed a wonderful evening, talking “hair” with Motions Hair and a few of New York’s finest women.  We ladies sipped delicious Choya wine with a hint of Japanese pomegranate fruit; we laid back and kicked off our shoes as if we were old friends reminiscing about our past hairstyles from trail and error to getting it right.

The question by the lovely and hilarious Karen Smith of  Motions posed to us, “When did you fall in love with your hair?” What a loaded question.  The memories started fluttering to the forefront as each one of us told our hair love story. Paula, the Editor and Chief of Juicy Magazine shaved it all off after lost love.

Nicole, Beauty Editor of Essence Magazine also known in high school as ‘the hair girl’ because she would be seen in the gym, on the school steps, even in the cafeteria workin’ out someones locs. She came upon her current hair trend by happenstance. While sporting a high bun up-do to work one day, she discovered/created a new style by twisting the open end of the hair and pinning the hair in a semi circle becoming a style for many to recreate.

What she didn’t know, as Ursula confirmed, is that her hairstyle is trending for the summer. Creating styles, making trends and not even aware of it.

Ursula, our Motions Ambassador for the evening (pictured in the photo above answering Karen Smith’s question), hair maven to the stars and “friend in my head” to many,  answered all our questions with grace and patience as some of us stubbornly adhered to her emphatic warnings of moistening, trimming, and heat balance, while warmly embracing us to love the hair we own.

To top off the evening, we were surprised with a Motions Gift Set.
