Though I didn’t get a formal invitation from Tadashi this season, thanks to a good Blogger friend of mine, I was able to enjoy the continuously beautiful collection from Tadashi Shoji at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. For Spring 2013, Tadashi silk and lace are the stars as he takes us on a journey where east meets West. As someone who loves long, flowy dresses with lots of movement, this was easily my favorite show of the season.
From start to finish, the collection featured gorgeous weightless dresses, effortlessly airy, short and long…just breathtaking. The models glided down the runway in luxurious Chantilly lace, chiffon and tulle.
While lace dominated the collection, Shoji broke up the theme with sheer Ikat, showing a softer side of the wild print in bold hues before wowing us with more ethereal lace chiffon and tulle gowns, best described as “fit for a goddess”.
