Monika Chiang Spring 2013 Collection Presentation

Monika Chiang is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows to attend during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week especially with her shoes. Inspired by her trip to South Africa, Monkia Chiang’s spring 2013 collection featured the colors and textured she observed on her trip from as she describes, “the vibrancy of Cape Town to the incredible colors and textures I encountered.”

The collection featured both neutral earthy colors and bold vibrant hues. Pants, skirts and Anoraks were seen in Silk Parachute, Georgette tanks, blouses, shirts, and dresses were paired under leather jackets and vests, over-sized and slouchy jackets and silk pants. I gravitated to her boldly hued looks – her mango silk parachute pants and anorak as well as her pleated wide leg pants in a shocking Kelly green.

And of course the shoes; from the luxe skins – embossed python, stingray, perforated suede and lush leather – to the stunning silhouettes and colors. For more on her footwear collection, get a closer look at the NY Shoe Examiner – Monika Chiang spring 2013 footwear collection preview.
