Ever wonder how something so minimal and humble can be so beautiful? This same question came to mind as I took in Suzanne Rae’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection at the Philippine Consulate this past Thursday. Being backstage I saw that the make-up only added to the understated beauty of the clothing, as it was meant to exude a quiet strength and femininity befitting of the clothes.
How did well-known celebrity and lead makeup artist for Suzanne Rae, James Vincent achieve that look? He and his team aimed for flawless skin with a flush of monochromatic red. A sculpted eyebrow and cheek also made the make up strong with a flushed look. Here is what was used:
1. Kevyn Aucoin peach and taupe eye shadows on the lids
2. Black Mascara
3. The famous Sensual Skin Enhancer to achieve the flawless skin of this look
4. Creamy Moist Glow for the Lips and Cheeks in Isadore
Vincent and team are setting the beauty trend that you can have a strong, feminine makeup look with minimal amount of beauty items. The true definition of less is more.
