Helios & Luna Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

I had the pleasure of previewing the Helios & Luna Spring 2012 Collection from designer Patricia Clyne, a collection filled with color, classic feminine shapes, modern and luxe silhouettes. Her looks were all very chic and highlighted the details and shapes

When asked about her spring collection, Particia stated, “Spring is about colors and being comfortable wearing colors. Strong color. The mixing of colors, complimentary colors like magenta and the sunset, the golden rod, the orange and the azure and the spring green. Also, the graphic quality of black and white the positive and the negative of all colors it is a timeless combo and it looks better than ever when mixed in the same garment.”

“It’s about shapes that are fresh and new, yet have a timeless quality. The sheath, done in a new way, the blouse done a new way and an importance in a women’s vocabulary that she is comfortable trying a new shape in a blouse for instance.”

One of my favorite looks from her collection was the below pintuck sheath dress (available in gold and charcoal) – whether it’s on a mannequin or on a model, it looks very chic. The fit is just about perfect.

LOFT Spring 2012 Collection

For Spring 2012, LOFT bring you lots of bold colors not only in clothing but in the accessories as well. Neon colors such as citron, lime, tangerine and raspberry are featured in dresses, jackets, top and bottoms as well as bracelets, scarves, handbags, etc

Bold color accents in graphic stripes, color blocking and vibrant wardrobe pieces were paired with neutral colors and tones to bring new life and new dimension to classic looks

We loved the fact that snakeskin prints were featured all throughout the collection. This fierce print is not just for shoes and accessories anymore. Be ready to sport some chic blouses, dresses and jackets

Another statement graphic print seen at LOFT were dots; features in various sizes, the black and white dots were prevalent in dresses and accented with bold accessories

Vibrant and neutral colors were also coupled in accessories, brightening up muted color palettes

Ann Taylor Spring 2012 Collection

Ann Taylor has wows me again with their incredible ability to capture the true essence of today’s young woman. The Ann Taylor Spring 2012 is packed with super flattering silhouettes, bold colors and lots of it, effortless chic styles, neutrals highlighted with pops of color and eye-catching accessories that are all remarkably easy to fit into any wardrobe

Featuring sleek modern styles, graphic designs, bold prints and bright colors, the Ann Taylor Spring 2012 Collection satisfies every style palette. More than a few looks were standouts including this oh so brilliant modern lace sheath dress accented with a skinny neon orange belt; these two colorblock sheaths (the pairing of the day-glo orange highlights the classic colors perfectly)

Other favs (and boy were there many) included, the below chiffon tiered shell paired with pink crepe skirt and crop jacket, the fun garden floral sheath paired with not-so-classic black jacket and obi belt and solid and print colorblock cowl neck top

The colorblocking naturally continued on to shoes as where we saw lots of black leather/nude leather and black and natural raffia combos with a some of the brights played into the more strappy styles

Jewelry was bold in design and color as statement brights were seen in just about every hue

As previously stated, the Ann Taylor Spring 2012 collection has looks to satisfy every style palette – the colors and looks feature colors from one end of the spectrum to the other. Those with more classic tastes and those who are more bold (and everyone in between) will be very happy with everything this collection has to offer.

Elene Cassis Spring 2012 Collection

Opening with a violinist playing a rendition of “Swan Lake” on a hot pink violin, the music turned into an upbeat club tempo’d music as models graced own the runway. Unlike most of these season’s shows which featured bold color, Elene Cassis featured modern silhouettes in pencil skirts, cropped jackets and chic sheath dresses in pastel colors.

While many of the looks appealed to me, I was most affected by the looks color blocked with pink and black as well as the contrast of the chunky bold jewelry paired with these classic shapes

As the show progressed, we continued to see looks that illustrated classic elegance and style

Venexiana Spring 2012 Collection

Kati Stern continues to offer bold silhouettes with fun embellishments in exquisite fabrics; her Spring 2012 Venexiana Collection featured lots of dazzling color – bold reds, sunset oranges, bright pinks and lots of glistening metallics – sexy form flattering shapes and edgy couture dresses. Venexiana’s Spring 2012 collection, inspired by Rock n Roll, paraded punk princess after punk princess with looks as bold as Kati Stern’s personality.

The gorgeous dresses featured lots of Swarovski crystals, intricate embroidery, sewn sequins, and flowers and the majority of the dresses highlighted what some believe are a woman’s best feature – her shoulders. Almost every look accentuated the model’s bare shoulders

Lela Rose Spring 2012 Collection

The Lela Rose Spring 2012 Collection was filled with flowy and relaxed structured dresses; no doubt we will be seeing some of these dresses on the red carpet during awards show season. What actress wouldn’t want to emit femininity and strength on the red carpet. Ironically, Rose’s inspiration “centered around the neon graveyard…..the unrestored and broken signs that dot the landscape of Las Vegas and the amusement park vibe of Coney Island”. It’s interesting that these soft beautiful looks were inspired by things that are now weathered and worn.

The Nude Tulle with Ivory Polka Dot Shirred Dress (above) made the model look ethereal. I loved the dress not only because it was exquisite, but also because of its ballerina silhouette which made it uber feminine and understatedly sexy. The Optic Silk Bustier with Night Lights Organze Tiered Ball skirt (above) seemed to float down the runway because of the layering of each ruffle. The bustier was modern and contemporary while the chiffon printed polka dot skirt looked almost angelic.

The Ivory Bulb Dotted Blocked Cardigan and the Nude Tulle with Ivory Dot Full Skirt add a 1960’s collegian vibe, while the Night Lights Organza Seamed Bustier Dress was stunning with its 1950’s silhouette.

After several divine dresses came down the runway, Rose add a few key pieces that could be mixed and matched with the dresses. The Burlap Double Face Zip Front Jacket with citron lining could go with any jeans or evening pants, but paring it with the Optic Silk Bralette and Multi-colored Washed Out Floral Full skirt added richness and a bold appeal to the look. The Stripped Paint Zip Front Dress with Piping Detail had just the right splashed of paint on it to give it somewhat of an 80’s vibe, while remaining modern. That best thing about the dress was that it can fit any style personality – add bright yellow stilettos or soft gray wedges to play up the colors.

When the Periwinkle Faded Embossed Organza Drop Waist Dress came down the runway it was mesmerizing, not only because of the colour but because of the printed ombre effect. The capped sleeves, v-neckline and pinned pleats added character to this chic dress. I also love the personality of the Black and Ivory Chipped Embroidered Dress, a classic sheath pumped up with the geometric graphic print reminiscent of the burned out and broken bulbs.
