Gifts for the Gamer from Nyko Technologies

I am far from what one would call a gamer (let’s just say my gaming experience is at 3% out of 100) but I cam across a company at two separate events (Pepcom and Propel Holiday Gift Guide) that has created some fun gaming accessories to entice novices like me and of course seasoned (and deadly serious gamers) like 95% of the population.

The Raven
is a premium, full featured, wireless controller with a soft feel surface for PlayStation 3. This ergonomic designed controller features motion sensing wireless, a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery for up to 25 hours of playtime and a faster response time thanks to the trigger inspired shoulder buttons. This baby also comes in both standard and swapped Xbox-style joystick layout. It offers so much more and only retails for $34.99.

Now those who know me will know exactly why I love this next item from Nyko technologies as soon as they see the photo below

Yes, my love of the color Pink knows no bounds. This Pink Nyko’s Wand for Nintendo® Wii (which is also available in Black, Blue, Purple, and White) is a motion sensing for IR controller, is fully compatible with Wii Motion Plus AND all Wii software. Don’t let the barbie pink fool you, this little lady counts full motion technology which provides advanced one-to-one movement detection for the most accurate motion control input as one of her many talents. Not impressed yet – she’s only $29.99

The next item is perfect for anyone who’s purchased the PlayStation Move. You already have your PS3 System, Your PlayStation Eye and your Move Remote….so what’s missing?

The Nyko Technologies Charge Station for Move of course. Not only can you charge your PlayStation Move controllers but this duo port charging dock allows you to charge the internal batteries of Move Motion Controller or Move Navigation Controller with no additional wires back to the console. Two separate LED charge indicators inform you of when each controller is done charging. The Duo Charging Station is more than a steal at $19.99 and for your serious gamers out there, you may want to get your hands on the Nyko Technologies Charge Station Quad for Move

At a mere $29.99, the Charge Station Quad for Move holds 4 Move controllers allowing you to charge the internal batteries of Move Motion Controller or Move Navigation Controller. Just as the duo has two separate LED charge indicators inform you of when each controller is charged, the Quad has four separate LED charge indicators.

Happy Gaming!!!

Sega Introduces Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi

I’m not what you’d call a video game girl, I’m more of a girly girl but I grew up on Sonic the Hedgehog (actually I grew up watching my brother vegge out while playing video games) so when TriplePoint held their product guide showcase and featured the new Sonic the Hedgehog game, I had to check it out. Actually, there are three titles being launched this Fall/Holiday Season:

Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Platforms: XBLA (Xbox), WiiWare, PSN (Playstation) and iPhone

Release Date: Early October

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be released episodically; episode 1 is what is being released in October so there will be another release next year. The game will feature 5-6 zones with 4 levels in each zone. An old character, Tails, will be returning and gamers will be happy to know that Sega will be implementing Fan feedback. See some screen captures below

Sonic Adventure
Platforms: XBLA (Xbox) and PSN (Playstation)
Release Date: Mid-September

Sonic Adventure will have a new feature called Homing Attack – making its first debut in Sonic Adventure in Dreamcast. The feature allows gamers to quickly attack enemies and its very simple so anyone can enjoy. As with all games, it starts out easy but increases in difficulty and complexity as the levels gets higher.

Crazy Taxi
Platforms: XBLA (Xbox) and PSN (Playstation)
Release Date: Late November

Tails, will not be the only oldie to make a repeat appearance as Crazy Taxi will be out just in time for the Holiday season. As stated above, it will be available for Xbox and Playstation for now with the iPhone platform coming soon.

Another great iPhone platform release for Dreamcast will be Chu Chu Rocket, so be on the look out, i think these will be selling out fast. While you’re planning your future gaming purchases. Check out a preview of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 below:
