It’s that time of year again – it’s Fashion Week. With a slight change in venue of course. September 9th, 2010 starts a new era of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – welcome to The Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, located on Columbus Avenue between 64th and 65th Streets. Upon exiting the subway station (a singular 1 train line to 66th street), you are greeted with a declaration that the 1 train is now the fashion line.
Another reminder of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’s new home is shown on the steps of the Lincoln Center, along with the word welcome in various languages, the words “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week” has been added tot he list of events that are housed in Lincoln Center.
and of course once you are in front of the famous Lincoln center fountain, you cannot help but notice the familiar logo on the mammoth size stone slab.
I admit, I do miss Bryant Park, I always thought it was so chic – this little fashion oasis surrounded by the concrete jungle. It always made my heart race a little to be in zipping up 6th Ave in a cab and see the tents going up. Unfortunately you don’t get to experience that passing infront of Lincoln Center but I’m sure we’ll all be wowed upon entry and I for one cannot wait. I am ready for the madness and excitement that is New York Fashion Week. I am ready for the 30 shows I will be attending. See you soon!
