Amy Smilovic featured a simple and classic looks for Tibi’s Spring 2011 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week but she added a bit of boldness by infusing some vibrant colors and quirky prints. The collection started with some simply darling dresses in both structured and easy flowy looks, all of which made these the perfect summer daytime outfits.
One structured detail that was featured throughout Tibi’s different looks were the structured pointed shoulders – featured in both the flowy dresses and the more structured looks, this detail was used on both long and capped sleeves.
For this season’s inspiration, Amy Smilovic looked back at old movies like “Leave Her to Heaven” from 1945, starring Gene Tierney. The movie’s character traveled from New Mexico, to Georgia, Michigan, then Cape Cod. As Amy notes, she matches the environment in every scene.
