Ann Taylor Spring 2011 Preview

Although its difficult to think of Spring right now with the mounds of snow still on the ground and temperature highs no higher than 34 degrees – well with the exception of always wondering “how long until Spring gets here?” (I know that’s not just me), Spring will be here soon and with some of the wonderful looks we’ll be getting from Ann Taylor this Spring, the anticipation is even more urgent.

For early Spring, Ann Taylor features bold prints, rich textures and neutrals such as khaki and bronze with touches of black for a sophisticated introduction to the onset of Spring. Some of my favorite looks from this season are shown above – the top of my list being their new Utilitarian Trench Coat and the gorgeous Blurred Bronze Silk Sheath show in photos one and two.

A little bit of color makes its way into the collection a little later in the Spring season. The lines of these looks are more structured, cleaner but also feature delicate fabrics. Soft knits add feminine touches to modern suits making each look easy, relaxed and simply chic.

Bolder colors and nautical themes are what Ann Taylor is offering for late Spring. Lilac and Violet are prevalent throughout the collection and mixed with navy for all-American elegance. As you can see, there will be lots of stripes this season and lots of layering. You can also look forward to Spring Tweeds, relaxed dark denims and lighter suits which makes dressing down a bit more polished.

And in a wonderful turn, Ann Taylor showcased their Wedding & Events Collection; for the woman who as it was put, “wants to look and feel her best self…..with modern styles detailed with a Couturier’s touch”. The collection features beautiful and elegant dresses that look chic and effortless.
