Long gone (so long 1980’s) is the image of the red power suit as a sign of female power and strength – Reem Acra shows that a woman can proclaim her power in an ebony trapunto-stitched fitted leather jacket with peplum and 3-dimensional pinwheel embroidered skirt as well as in a multi-sequin starbust v-neck gown
Models looked like they were poured into the cool fitted leather pieces and slinky metallic and chiffon looks – a silhouette that will surely make young hollywood, like Rihanna, Lea Michelle, etc. quite happy. Of course I also wouldn’t be surprised to see any of her dazzling golden gowns on an Oscar nominee during this red carpet season.
For the more daring celebs, Reem Acra featured gowns with strategically placed peekaboo lacerations across the body. The woman who wears one of these is absolutely in full awareness of her full power.
