An amazing experience was had backstage at Bibhu Mohapatra S/S 2013 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I was fortunate enough to see the makings of an avant-garde look that still evoked a spring feel. By now we have seen that the popular trend for spring is the slicked back ponytail look, however lead L’Oreal Professionnel Portfolio Artist, Amit Abraham chose to up the ante with a hybrid fishtail-bun for Bibhu Mohapatra.
I inquired about his inspiration in which Amit explained how he wanted something that looked graphic, modern, and cocoon-like. Standout L’Oreal Professionnel product, Mythic Oil Reinforcing Milk was used for slicking back the hair while Freezing Mist and Perfect Shimmer provided sheen and a strong hold.
Although the overall hair and makeup look was kept minimal, pops of color were added in the straight parts with a lime pencil as well as with the messy smokey eye highlighted by bright colors.
