Duane Reade has been making New Yorkers’ lives easier for decades but now the chain of pharmacy and convenience stores has a new way to get what we need, faster and easier thanks to a new iBeacon update to its mobile app. With this mobile app update to the #DRMobileApp, New Yorkers are rewarded with a Duane Reade shopping experience better than ever before. What’s new in the version 2.0? You can browse the store’s weekly ads and clip coupons and add them directly to your Wellness Balance Card, you have the ability to quickly print your photos from Instagram and your phone’s gallery to create photo cards, collage prints, posters, and canvas prints, you be reminded when it’s time to take your medication, and get points by logging in your activities such as walking/running, and setting activity goals.
While shopping at one of their many locations, the app also gives you access to lots of tools you need, like prescription refill by scan, creating your shopping list, keeping track of your points balance, locating which of the many Duane Reade locations are closest to you, and our favorite, the app lets you know what items are on sale based on your previous purchases. As a purchaser of numerous beauty items at our usual Duane Reade location, 42nd & 8th, we received instant notification that one of our favorite brands, Revlon, had items on sale. A quick trip to the LOOK beauty floor of Duane Reade led me to the aisle containing Revlon’s products.
The app gave us the option to clip the coupons (or unclip them if we changed our mind about purchasing) and automatically attach them to our rewards card thanks to iBeacon. This update to the #DRMobileApp greatly improves Duane Reade’s customer engagement and it’s the loyalty card program. Using our clipped coupons, we saved $1.00 each on a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss and Revlon Nailart Suncandy Nailpolish.
Checkout is when we usually pray we have our rewards card on us to get it scanned for possible savings (that’s if we didn’t lose or forget it in another bag) but thanks to the Duane Reade app, all we had to do was have the barcode scanned to get the coupon savings as well as our points from the purchase.
Although we weren’t in the market to print any photos, take any medication or prescription pickups, we couldn’t help but check out those features, along with checking out our new points balance after this purchase.
The new iBeacon features are only available in 10 Duane Reade locations including 42nd and 8th, 36th and Broadway, 58th and 8th, 50th and Broadway, etc. If you’re like us and frequent Duane Reade as often as we do, you definitely need to download this app. Not doing so may have you missing out on some wonderful savings. get the app here – https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/duane-reade/id600039876?mt=8.
