Skinny & Co. Coconut Oil: The All Season Hydrator

As one who has used an almost immeasurable amount of body moisturizers to keep our skin hydrated throughout the year and through the various and vastly different seasons, we can 100 percent say there is nothing like the hydrating and protective benefits of coconut oil. Of course, the best coconut oil to use is a high-quality one that leaves the raw nutrients intact; that coconut oil is 100% virgin coconut oil, Skinny & Co Coconut Oil.

Skinny & Co Coconut Oil is the only raw, 100% alkaline coconut oil in the world; it is made with hand-picked wild-Harvested, not plantation grown coconuts. What makes Skinny & Co Coconut Oil even more amazing is that is cold-processed, not just cold pressed, thanks to their patent-pending Nutralock System. You already know coconut oil has over a hundred uses. You can cook with it, substituting it for butter and other oils, condition your hair, Oil pulling, and of course use it as a moisturizer on your face and body.

You will immediately notice the difference between Skinny & Co Coconut Oil and other brands. It absorbs much better into your skin and keeps it hydrated and moisturized all day, even on the coldest winter days. We’ve been using Skinny & Co Coconut Oil for two seasons now and our skin couldn’t be happier. It’s become our go-to lip, scalp, and skin moisturizer, makeup remover, cuticle hydrator, and cooking oil.

The 100% raw coconut oil isn’t the only product we’re loving from Skinny & Co Coconut Oil. You’ll love the Coconut Oil Bar Soaps (available in five scents); the deeply hydrating Skinny Shampoo Bars that delivers intense hydration to your hair without creating excess oils (your hair will love you for this); the Whipped Body Butter that’s perfect to use as an all over moisturizer, hair mask or conditioner, or shaving cream; the Skinny & Co. Sugar Scrub, a pH balanced scrub that can be used as an all-over body exfoliant, prep for self-tanner, and as a lip scrub; and a Clarifying Moisturizing Facial Oil for blemish-prone and oily skin types. We know what you’re thinking – why would I put oil on my oily skin? This 100% oil moisturizer helps clarify and balance by removing impurities and congestion from the surface of the skin. These wonderful products are just some of the great skincare products from Skinny & Co, check out their site to see more.

Do you use coconut oil in your beauty or skincare regime? Are you looking to trying a great coconut oil? Don’t take our word for it, check out Skinny & Co’s customer reviews and see who else is loving their coconut oil.

Kiehl’s Launches Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream w/ Summer Party

Kiehl’s brought a little sunshine and summer fun into our winter lives right before the snowstorm. The wonderfully fun event was to celebrate their newest skincare launch, the Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream. From the outside decor, we knew we were in for a wonderful night of summer enjoyment, despite the cold temperatures outside, and boy were we right. Guests were invited to don their favorite summer fashions for a bit of fun in the “sun”. Many attendees complied, rocking shorts, sun dresses, and lots of bold colors.

The summer themed event with filled with lots of fun, interactive details and all the things you’d find at the perfect pool deck – a ball pit made to look like a swimming pool, lifeguards on duty, palm trees, cool flotation devices, relaxing deck chairs, Tiki bar serving delicious and refreshing lemonade and ice tea drinks, and of course stations to try out the new Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream.

What makes the Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream so amazing? (We’ve been using the sample we received and we must say, our skin has never felt this soft and supple during the winter months.) To create this new wonder skincare product, Kiehl’s harnessed the power of two natural ingredients sourced from Eastern and Western medicine, each known for their potency and amazing benefits.

Kiehl’s used the ancient botanical, Korean Red Ginseng Root, for its revitalizing properties and its ability to accelerate cell renewal, improve texture and vitality, leaving you with vibrant glowing skin. The New Zealand-based Manuka Honey strengthens your skin’s barrier to smooth fine lines, helps to improve your skin’s resilience and its ability to recover. We’re loving the results after one week of use, we can’t wait to see our skin after a month of use. As usual, it’s always a pleasure to say hello to and thank Kiehl’s President, Chris Salgardo, who showed some leg in short shorts.

Other favorite guests included famed Fashion Designers, Jeffrey Costello, and Robert Tagliapietra, of fashion house Costello Tagliapietra. It’s always a pleasure to see these super sweet and iconic designers at Kiehl’s events, and singer Kehlani, who performed a great set at the launch event

As always, we had a great time celebrating with Kiehl’s and look forward to having our skin be completely and properly protected from the upcoming frigid winter days. The Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream. is available now both online and at all Kiehl’s retail locations. The 1.7oz. Jar retails for $60.00, and the 2.5oz. Jar for $79.00. Have you tried the newest member of the Kiehl’s skincare family for yourself?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Spotlight on What’s New in Beauty: BeautyPress Spotlight Day

The beauty industry is always evolving, so there’s always new products hitting the market. New beauty product launches are necessary as our needs change and evolve for skincare, makeup, and personal care products. We got reacquainted with BeautyPress, a digital communication tool that connects international and local beauty brands with media, for their BeautyPress Spotlight Day. At this most recent Spotlight Day product showcase, we got a chance to preview several beauty products from Mirai Clinical, BCL Naturals, Note Beauty, Parodi Professional Care, PrivateRX, and Summer’s Eve.

Mirai Clinical

The philosophy behind Mirai Clinical is less is more. They believe in a simplified approach to skincare where the fewer products you use, the healthier your skin. The wonderful products we were introduced to include the Purifying & Hydrating Face Wash, a sulfate-free cleanser that cleanses, moisturizes and softens your skin without stripping it of its natural protective oils; the Instantly Purifying & Cooling Spritzer, a light, grapefruit-scented spray which helps keep you dry and provides superior deodorant protection whenever and wherever you need it; the Moisture Lock-in Facial Cotton sheets, a quick and effective way of boosting your skin’s moisture for glowing skin that adjusts to any face shape and is super easy to carry; and the Deodorizing Hair Brush Liner, a deodorizing liner made with natural persimmon extract which acts as a dry shampoo, prevents static, absorbs dirt, sprays, and gels without harmful aerosols.

BCL Naturals Hair Care

New haircare launch product, BCL Naturals, features eight products that provide result-based formulas for the most common hair types. The brand’s products are Sulfate-free, Paraben-free, color safe, gluten-free, contain no Phthalates or GMOs, and is offered in two hair categories, an Intense Hydration collection, which moisturizes and nourishes dry, frizzy, dull hair with soothing lavender and avocado, and essential oils; and a Repair and Reconstruct collection containing minerals and proteins which strengthens, smooths, and provides heat protection for damaged, overworked hair leaving it moisturized and fortified with every wash. All BCL Naturals products are available at Sally Beauty.

NOTE Cosmetics

This three-year-old cosmetics brand is getting plenty of attention and it certainly did get ours at the BeautyPress Spotlight Day, where they introduced their two newest products, Sunglow Foundation, a lustrous liquid glow and highlighter designed to achieve a natural, dewy, radiant complexion; and the Ultra Rich Color Lipstick, a light, ultra-creamy lipstick with a unique combination of argan oil and cocoa butter that protects, moisturizes and reduces fine lines around the lip contour area. All NOTE Cosmetics Ultra Rich Color Lipstick shades are available nationwide and online at www.NoteCosmetics.com; a select assortment of Ultra Rich Lipstick shades will be available on www.Forever21.com, and www.Ulta.com.

Parodi Professional Care

Are your hands frequently exposed to water, chemicals, heat, gloves, dry weather or other irritants? Then the Parodi Professional Care Daily Moisturizing, and Professional Care Intensive Moisturizing Hand Creams are the perfect solutions for you. The highly concentrated fast absorbing, non-greasy formulas are actually based on the nourishment of a face cream providing immediate comfort to dry, dehydrated skin and overworked hands. Could your feet need some pampering and protection as well? The brand also offers two footwear products, Smoothing Exfoliant for Feet, a gentle chemical, and physical exfoliant that helps feet feel smooth, soft and refreshed; and Nourishing Foot Cream, a moisturizing foot cream that softens, soothes and hydrates dry, tired feet, keeps callouses under control and moisturizes the skin. Parodi products are available on the recommendation of salon professionals or purchase directly at www.parodicare.com.

PrivateRX Intimate Skin Care Products

Did you know you can help fight the effects of aging and damaged skin of a woman’s most intimate area? With the products from the PrivateRX Intimate Skin Care, you can. As estrogen levels decline, so does a woman’s natural lubrication prior to, or during menopause resulting in undernourished, under-hydrated, aged skin. PrivateRx products can help firm, soothe, tighten and moisturize while gently delivering powerful anti-aging benefits in a safe and gentle way. The products we were introduced to at  BeautyPress Spotlight Day include the Internal Vaginal Moisturizer, a long-lasting super-moisturizing system to help reduce vaginal dryness for comfort and confidence; the External Vaginal Moisturizer, a unique skin treatment that moisturizes the external vaginal area to help alleviate dryness; the Personal Vaginal Lubricant, the ultimate lubricant to safely enhance sexual pleasure and also provides relief from vaginal dryness; Cooling Pads, antioxidant cleansing wipes to help prevent bumps, irritation and ingrown hair caused by shaving or waxing; and Soothing Serum, an intense, super-moisturizing aftercare product to help prevent irritation and ingrown hair caused by shaving or waxing. The products are available online at www.privaterx.com, Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, and more.

Summer’s Eve

For those moments when you need to freshen up while on the go, Summer’s Eve adds Cleansing Cloths to their product lineup of Cleansing Washes, Night-time Cleansing Wash, and Freshening Sprays. Like the washes, these individually packaged packettes (16-count) or the soft pack ( 32-count) of cloths come in a variety of scents including Aloe Love, Island Splash, Sheer Floral, and Simply Sensitive.  The lightly fragranced cleansing cloths provide an easy and discreet way to feel confidently fresh when you need to quickly wipe away odor-causing bacteria. Summer’s Eve is available at mass retailers nationwide. For more information, visit www.summerseve.com.

Now that we’ve shared the products we saw at BeautyPress Spotlight Day, let us know what you think. Have you used any of these beauty, skin care, and personal care products?

Your Skin Needs Bacteria: Rethinking Clean with Mother Dirt Products

We’re all familiar with good fats, good carbs, and good cholesterol, today we share products that restore and maintain good bacteria and live probiotics that help you achieve great skin. It seems that we’ve been overcleaning our skin and getting rid of the good bacteria with the bad. Mother Dirt, a beauty brand we discovered at a Total Beauty event, is here to change that. The healthy probiotics that are in Mother Dirt Products help reduce inflammation, improve skin’s texture and appearance, is great for both oily, and dry skin, and helps you cut down on product usage, and helps saves you from any chemicals that may be in beauty products.

Mother_Dirt_Skincare_Products_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

As long sufferers of uneven skin tones and oily skin, we were all in to test the concept that bacteria and microbes are a must for flawless complexions. We’re ready for our pores to shrink, our skin to be balanced, and our hair to be healthier, softer, and shinier. The trio of products, Mother’s Dirt AO+ Mist, Mother’s Dirt Face & Body Cleanser, and Mother’s Dirt Shampoo, are ready to reduce the amount of products you use and leave you with great skin

Mother_Dirt_Skincare_Products3_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

The preservative-free, fragrance-free, kid-friendly, and sensitive-skin friendly Mother Dirt Face & Body Cleanser, $15.00, is a gentle cleanser that effectively removes dirt and makeup, without removing good bacteria. It also works great as a makeup remover and shaving cream. You will find yourself using fewer deodorants and moisturizers, will see improvements to the look and feel of your skin on both your face and body and will end up taking shorter showers.

Within two weeks of using the Mother Dirt AO+ Mist, $49.00, you will see improvements in skin issues including sensitivity, blotchiness, roughness, oiliness, and dryness. This preservative-free, fragrance-free, kid-friendly, and sensitive-skin friendly mist contains the good bacteria, AOB (Ammonia Oxidizing Bacteria). This live bacteria replaces the essential bacteria we lose using today’s ultra-clean products. Use it anywhere you sweat (face, body, hair) to get rid of odor-causing sweat. The AO+ Mist restores your skin’s natural balance, leaving it softer and smoother.

We all know that shampoo can strip the hair of everything in an effort to get it clean. Lathering agents, chemicals, and preservatives in regular shampoos remove important oils and good bacteria from our scalp. Also washing our hair too often can increase oil production, making our hair oilier fast, which leads to more frequent washing. The Mother Dirt Shampoo$15.00, is formulated to help keep the ecosystem of the scalp and hair in balance, so your hair needs less and looks better.

What are your thoughts on good bacteria? Could adding these external probiotics to your skincare routine help improve your skin? Find out how the Mother Dirt Products can help you replace what you’re losing.

Celebrating Pride Weekend with Kiehl’s Since 1851 and Mya

Once again we were lucky enough to score an invitation to celebrate Pride Weekend with Kiehl’s Since 1851. If there is one company you want to celebrate with, it is this American skincare brand that specializes premium skin, hair, and body care products. Every year Kiehl’s hosts the official kick-off party with NYC Pride to the great joy of all in attendance, including us. As with all their past pride events, Kiehl’s president, Chris Salgardo co-hosted the event with a noted celebrity, made another wonderful donation to a non-profit organization, and had guests enjoying themselves with a hot DJ on deck. This year’s celebrity co-host was recording artist, songwriter, and actress, Mya, with DJ Gustavo on the 1-and-2s.

singer_mya_at_kiehls_pride_party_www-mylifeonandofftheguestlist-com

As always, the party, which was held at Third Avenue and East 13th Street, the first and flagship Kiehl’s location, was completely packed with party goers, activists, Kiehl’s employees, members of the LGBTQ community, celebrities, etc. It was a wonderful mix of people enjoying delicious cocktails and refreshments at a fun and philanthropic event.

We say philanthropic because once again Kiehl’s president, Chris Salgardo (pictured directly below), made a donation to the Hetrick-Martin Institute, as he does every year during the Pride Weekend with Kiehl’s parties. For those not aware, the Hetrick-Martin Institute is a non-profit that believes all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hetrick-Martin creates this environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 13 and 24 and their families.

To keep the party going, Mya, who graciously signed autographs of her 2016 album, Smoove Jones, for fans, also took a turn as guest DJ for the anxious crowd, treating us to one or two of her songs.

singer_mya_at_kiehls_pride_party2_www-mylifeonandofftheguestlist-com

As always, we had a great time at the Pride Weekend with Kiehl’s kick-off party, it’s a must if you can attend. Will you be attending the Pride Weekend events? We hope you all celebrate pride weekend safely this year; have fun in whatever pride events you attend but get home safe.

Spring is the season of renewal, so what better time than now to replace our old beauty products with new ones. Thanks to beautypress, we got to try out some innovative new beauty products for hair, face and body. Some of these beauty brands we’re already familiar with and others we’re now very happy to know. Journey with us as we get to know the wonderful products in the beautypress May Beauty Box.

beautypress_May_Beauty_Box_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

The contents of the beautypress May Beauty Box included full-sizes of It Haircare 12-in-One Amazing Leave-in TreatmentAHAVA Dead Sea Crystal Osmoter, two Eve Milan New York The Lacial MasquesJouviance Glyco Laser 5 Soft Peel Night CreamINNARAH VenoDefense Hydrating Treatment Creme, and the AHAVA DeadSea Plants Firming Body Cream.

It Haircare 12-in-One Amazing Leave-in Treatment

It_Haircare_Leave_In_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

Since our hair has been feeling a bit dry lately, thanks to the unpredictable and crazy fluctuations in weather, and because we live for good leave-in conditioners, we dove right into trying the It Haircare 12-in-One Amazing Leave-in Treatment. Not only did it do the unattainable and tamed our frizz, it helped to quickly detangle our curls, left our hair wonderfully hydrated, smelling amazing and left it feeling so soft. This will be a definite hair staple.

AHAVA Dead Sea Crystal Osmoter

Ahava_Dead_Sea_Crystal_Osmoter_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

As we mentioned above, the weather has been horrible for out hair……but our skin has had it worse. We were trying out the whole “Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner” hack, and I guess our skin is not a fan because it was incredibly dry. Thankfully the AHAVA Dead Sea Crystal Osmoter was one of the products in the box and it was a lifesaver for hydrating and moisturizing our skin. A little of this intense serum goes a long way and the day after we tried it, our skin felt significantly less dry and tight. We can’t wait to see what the full results of continuous use will be.

Eve Milan New York The Lacial Masques

Eve_Milan_New_York_The_Facial_Masque_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

A few days after trying the Ahava product, we tried the Eve Milan New York Moisturizing and Repairing Lacial Masque to get that extra boost of moisture and healing our skin may still need from the extreme dryness. First, we must say, we love the sensuous look of the mask (it’s all lace). Our skin felt quite soft and supple with all traces of dryness completely gone (we’ll be sharing photos via social media). We look forward to trying out the Brightening Masque very soon.

Jouviance Glyco Laser 5 Soft Peel Night Cream

Jouviance_Glyco_Laser_5_Soft_Peel_Night_Cream_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

Since we were experiencing very dry skin, we hadn’t tried the Jouviance Glyco Laser 5 Soft Peel Night Cream, but we’re super excited to try it out as we always opt for glycolic facials to get rid of dead skin and stimulate new cells when we can escape to a spa. We wanted to give our skin an in-between break between products, so we can indulge. We can’t wait to peel back the years. Look out for our photos on social media.

INNARAH VenoDefense Hydrating Treatment Creme

Innarah_VenoDefense_Treatment_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

We’ve heard about the wonderful effects that skincare products which contain snake venom can have on aging skin, so of course we were excited to try the INNARAH VenoDefense Hydrating Treatment Creme. We saved using this hydrating treatment as our night cream to help fight off the effects of the day. We sometimes experience skin inflammation and redness, but after using the VenoDefense Hydrating Treatment Creme for about three days, we noticed some improvements in both skin issues. Imagine the difference after two or more weeks, we can’t wait!

AHAVA DeadSea Plants Firming Body Cream

Ahava_Dead_Sea_Plants_Firming_Body_Cream_www.mylifeonandofftheguestlist.com

Last but not least of the beautypress May Beauty Box products is the AHAVA DeadSea Plants Firming Body Cream. We’re lucky to have minimal cellulite, and we wanted to concentrate on the products for hair and face, so we’re saving trying out the firming body cream for a later date. We’re especially interested in its ability to smooth out skin’s texture, recover lost skin firmness and its Collagen repair.

What are your thoughts on the beauty products in the beautypress May Beauty Box? Are you familiar with or have you tried any of them? Let us know in the comments.
