Oakley Presents Olympics Team USA Eyewear

Did you know that Oakley is the official licensee and eyewear supplier to Team USA and the U.S. Olympic Committee for the 2012 London Olympics? Oakley celebrated this honor by creating a very special collection that carries the colors of pride and patriotism called Team USA.

Featured above are the following Oakley sunglasses – Team USA JawboneTeam USA Miss Conduct™ Squared, Team USA Commit® SqTeam USA Flak Jacket XLJ, and Team USA Fuel Cell. Check out full descriptions of each style below:

Jawbone – Featuring Oakley SwitchLock™ technology, the lower part of the frame rim opens to allow easy access for quick lens changing, letting Olympic athletes adapt and optimize performance in any light condition. Guys will fully enjoy the revolutionary design which holds the lenses with a suspension system so stresses on the frame do not affect the optics. The architecture of Jawbone ensures there is nothing to diminish the unbeatable clarity of High Definition Optics, and athletes still get the unprecedented comfort and fit of a flexible frame design.

Miss Conduct™ Squared – Updated with a squared-off shape, these lightweight, rimless toric shield glasses for women truly shield you from the elements. It also features Unobtainium® nose pads and a Three–Point Fit that holds lenses in precise optical alignment for optimum comfort as well as Polaric Ellipsoid™ geometry to simultaneously optimize both peripheral view and side coverage. It also shields your eyes from harmful blue light up to 400nm with 100% UVA / UVB / UVC protection via Oakley’s Plutonite® material.

Commit® Sq – Optimized for women, the Commit has an interchangeable lens design that lets you adapt to changing light. Available in the subtly squared (SQ) lens shape or the aviator inspired (AV) lens shape, this stress-resistant O Matter® frame material gives it a low weight, the three-Point Fit that touches only the sides of your head and the bridge of your nose, and does so with Unobtainium® components that increase grip with perspiration.

Flak Jacket XLJ – With its dual-lens design, the Flak Jacket offers some of Oakley’s finest technologies in visual performance, protection, and supreme comfort as well as interchangeable lens design so athletes can swap-out the optics when conditions change. The unbeatable technologies of High Definition Optics come standard with this style which includes Oakley’s patented XYZ Optics. The Flak Jacket frame also comes with two sizes of nose pads and Oakley Unobtainium for a secure fit and increased grip with perspiration.

Fuel Cell A a clean, smooth style that trades in-your-face attitude for outspoken originality. The streetwise design is made of durable yet lightweight O Matter® frame material in confident contours that improve side protection, and Oakley”s Three-Point Fit offers all-day comfort while keeping the lenses in precise optical alignment. The lenses of each frame are actually cut from a single shield of optically pure Plutonite® then placed in the frame to maintain the original, continuous contour. An innovation of High Definition Optics, Polaric Ellipsoid. lens geometry extends clarity all the way to your peripheral view.

With each sale of this special edition sunglass, Oakley will provide a portion of the proceeds directly to the U.S. Olympic Committee, which is a non-profit organization tasked with raising money to support the U.S. Olympic and U.S. Paralympics teams.

FITNESS Magazine’s Blogger Meet & Tweet

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending an amazing blogger event with Fitness Magazine. The day was filled with informative panels, one-on-ones with some amazing brands, a wonderful lunch, a fitness apparel fashion show and an invigorating workout

The event opened up with a welcome message by Fitness Editor in Chief, Betty Wong and Female Soccer legend, Mia Hamm who signed mini soccer balls and posed for photos with attendees

Panels included The Real Deal on Carbs, Cleanses and Caffeine with Fitness Nutrition Editor, Juno DeMelo, Keri Gans & Tanya Zuckerbot, Drop Dead Healthy with A.J. Jacobs, and Easy Beauty Secrets: Q&A with Fitness Beauty Director, Eleanor Langston and Laura Geller. The event sponsors and brand attendees included Birkenstock, Reebok, Oakley, Vichy, Sun-Maid, V8 V-Fusion, Schick Hydro Silk, Pure Protein (love the Cookies n’ Cream drink), etc

After the first break, Fitness Fashion Director, Argy Koutsothanasis presented the Gym to Street: Fashion Tips That Will Help You Stretch Your Spandex Beyond the Gym Fashion Show.

And following an amazing lunch, another panel on How to Turn Your Blog into a Business with Kelly Olexa, Tina Haupert, Carla Birnberg & Julie Fagan, and closing remarks with Fitness Executive Editor, Pam O’Brien, we enjoyed a Tabura Pop-Up Workout with KiwiSweat (well at least I tried to but the workout kicked my butt)

I really hope Fitness magazine makes this an annual event, it was both extremely enjoyable and informative and a great way to celebrate and of course connect with other bloggers and brands. Thanks again to Fitness magazine and all the event’s sponsors for a wonderful experience.

Accessor-EYES Your Summer

Today is a beautiful bright and sunny day which of course means its time to pull out the sunglasses. Finding a chic pair of sunglasses that fits my face is always a chore – my face is a very circular oval (I treat my sunglasses like precious gems but just like every sunglasses owner, I have lost or broken a few), so when I do see styles that work, I practically hold them up to the heavens and chant. This summer, I’m particularly excited about the eyewear offerings from two brands – Oakley and See Eyewear.

With my face shape, I find that large frames like the Oakley Underspin, Changeover – my favorite style – oversized and chic, these large square lenses feature frames with a blend of color and texture; the Sweetspot – my second favorite – a large, round, lightweight frames that are universally flattering and offer great sun protection. This style is feminine yet strong. Other great styles include the Drizzle, Urgency and Overtime and because this is Oakley, they are available in a variety of colored frames.

See Boutique features a collection that is a eclectic and unique assortment of the best. They are innovative fashion frame makers who puts their products through a double editing process. My favorite styles from See Eyewear seem to all be gradient styles and they include #3936, #3935, and #5240.

Skateboarder Ryan Sheckler hosts NYC Oakley Store Opening

Oakley christened their new Store in the heart of New York City – Times Square with the help of MTV’s Ryan Sheckler. Some of you may remember Sheckler from the MTV show, Life of Ryan.
