Jill Stuart 2011 Fall/Winter Collection

Jill Stuart opened her Fall 2011 show collection with looks screen printed with woodland creatures – owls, foxes, etc. No surprise since she was inspired by Heidi Specker’s photos of the Enchanted Forest (aka Black Forest) in Germany.

This inspiration was especially prevalent in her color palette – teal, green, browns, burgundy, orange and reds

My favorite Jill Stuart looks from this season’s show were her color-block pieces. She featured bold geometric color blocking in striking combinations – teal/green/black, burgundy/orange/teal/black, etc

and oh wow, the beauty of those bold colors color-blocked with metallics. Some may not agree with me but the looks with the metallic color-blocking reminded me very much of Egyptian-era garments. Either way, I’ve always loved the feminine looks Jill Stuart, she knows how to make a women look and feel feminine.
