My Life on (and off) the Guest List

Welcome to the Beauty Oasis – Sephora Meatpacking

There is an abundance of fashion designer boutiques in the Meatpacking District but until recently, your only real choices for beauty was Inglot for makeup and the fairly new L’Occitane for skincare. Beauty mecca Sephora has changed that with their cool new location on Ninth Ave and 13th Street.

Offering exclusive brands and an amazing beauty experience, though the building’s facade is typical meatpacking architecture, inside is vastly different; inside features a modern sleek design – a bit like being transported to a secret future beauty haven.

The Sephora meatpacking also features a roster of global and exclusive beauty brands such as Sponge Avocado Oil (Greece), Tatcha Blotting Papers (Japan), Absolution Eye Cream (France), Belmacz Gold Leaf Lip balm (UK), 21 Drops, Ellia Faas, Ken Gen Do Cosmetics, etc.
You can expect a free flowing design layout with areas dedicated to skincare, nail products, fragrance, color, brushes and my favorite – the Lash Bar, which allows you to try lashes in various colors and lengths.

This Sephora offers much more than products to purchase. With their Beauty Art Studio, you are invited to master any new beauty look with their Express Services or Customized makeup Application with the cost of each session redeemable in product. Services include Blush & Bronze, Flawless Foundation, Treat & Conceal, Beautiful Skin, Smoky Eye and Faux Lash as well as specialized Services which includes Prom, Bridal and Evening.

Upon entry, you are greeted by a powerful art installation by installation artist and sculptor, E.V. Day. The piece, made from an original flamenco dress and titled “Flamenco Tornado”, is the first commissioned by Sephora. it is distorted to show the power and movement of a woman, much like a tornado – it explores overt female power, sexuality, passion and energy

Another unique aspect to the Sephora Meatpacking location is the checkout system – this Sephora features a complete Mobile Checkout experience for faster, more efficient and easier purchasing.
