Grand Central Grand Gourmet | The Flavor of Midtown

I was lucky and honored to be invited to be guests of Kansas Clean Distilled Whiskey and Cockspur Rum, who were two of the beverage sponsors, at the Grand Central Grand Gourmet: The Flavor of Midtown event. “The Flavor of Midtown® is GCP’s annual neighborhood restaurant showcase held in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall to benefit and recognize the work of the Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation, an independent, not-for-profit organization, serving the needs of the homeless throughout Midtown”. I, along with a guest, got the chance to sample delicious dishes and beverages from more than 35 of Midtown Manhattan’s (and the world’s) finest restaurants in the unforgettable setting of majestic Vanderbilt Hall.

I was in foodie heaven at this event as I not only enjoyed amazing delicacies from some of my favorite restaurants but new ones I was introduced to. Check out a few of my favorites (there were so many and I wish I could post photos from all of them but this would be a ridiculously long post). From amazing sliders from Pershing Square, to lobster cakes from Cafe Centro, sea scallops from the Barclay Bar and Grill, and the most amazing banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery, and many more.

As I mentioned, I was invited by Cockspur Rum and Kansas Clean Distilled Whiskey who of course served some delicious (and dangerous) cocktails that night. Both of which perfectly paired with several of the dishes I tried.

I left the event beyond stuffed, happily sated and with a long list of new dishes to try. If you are a foodie, this event is a must to attend. For more information, visit http://www.grandcentralpartnership.org/things-to-do/grand-gourmet.
